NOTES

Marco Estrada is starting to get it together. He managed 4.2 innings, 74 pitches on Sunday. He allowed five hits and one walk while striking out three. At this stage we can say he has stabilized his performance.

Will Robertson was the hero for Buffalo. In a tied game in the ninth inning Robertson hit a pinch hit RBI triple. He then scored on a sac fly.

In New Hampshire's first game RJ Schreck homered and doubled to drive in two runs. Yohendrick Pinango had his usual two hits. Cade Doughty completed his first week back in AA with two hits and hit .400 for the week.

New Hampshire had just two hits in game two.

Vancouver pitchers pitched a one hitter and lost. The one hit was a double, add a walk and a error and that's the two runs that lost the game. Jackson Wentworth didn't allow a hit over five innings. He walked three and struck out two. The C's just had three hits themselves.

Gilberto Batista had a rough first inning, he gave up a couple of bombs and four runs. He went on to finish four innings but seven hits conceded with just one K.

Edward Duran hit his third home run, a two run shot. He also singled.

What's the deal with Leo Jimenez?

There's a 3B job he could be battling for right now.

Ryan Burr and Adam Macko both pitching in the FCL today.

Leo Jimenez had mono and should be returning soonish.

I remember thinking Jimenez and Kasevich would have a nice battle going on at shortstop this year...

Jimenez has played one pro inning at 3B, so I don't imagine he factors in to that position. I would, however, really like to see a Jimenez-Gimenez double-play combo for a few games.

I've thought for a long time now that Jimenez was the best of the "maybe ready for the majors/AAAA crew" - nothing I've seen recently from Roden, Barger, Martinez, Clement, Lukes, etc. has changed my view of that. I do still think Roden has a future though.

Ugly- a recent article by Shi notes that Jimenez was struck by a bad bout of mono during ST, and has only now begun to regain his health and work his way back

The legend of Yeuni Munoz takes a hit - he's been moved to the 60-day IL. 87 games played in 3+ years.

Bloss has also been moved to the IL after walking off the field with a trainer in his last start. All quiet from the Jays on that one.

Jake Bloss is dealing with an elbow issue. Got evaluated in Toronto recently and will continue working with team doctors and trainers. Won’t make his next AAA start. Severity unclear as of now.

Yesavage was #13 on BA's weekly prospect hot sheet. BA mentioned that he and Khal Stephen "have dominated the Florida State League over the opening month and look the part of potential rotation pieces."

MLB's mock draft
1. Nationals: Ethan Holliday, SS/3B, Stillwater (Okla.) HS (No. 1)
2. Angels: Liam Doyle, LHP, Tennessee (No. 10)
3. Mariners: Kade Anderson, LHP, Louisiana State (No. 9)

8. Blue Jays: Billy Carlson, SS, Corona (Calif.) HS (No. 6)
Some evaluators think Carlson is the best defensive high school shortstop they've ever seen, though he may require a swing upgrade that may not be hard to implement.

10. White Sox: Kayson Cunningham, SS/2B, Johnson HS, San Antonio (No. 15)
11. Athletics: Kyson Witherspoon, RHP, Oklahoma (No. 8)

Can't say I follow these things closely, but I'd imagine Laviolette would be hard to pass up if he's available at 8.
