NOTES
The Bisons hitters were en fuego. 19 hits, every hitter had a hit. Orelvis had a big night, two doubles and a triple. However it is his first multi hit game since May 6th. Rainer Nunez homered, his third in the last seven days. Josh Rivera had four hits and three RBI. Rivera is 9 for 17 this week, hitting over .500. He could be in line for IL player of the week, just before he possibly gets sent down as Josh Kasevich and Leo Jimenez return.
Ryan Watson had another not so great start, four runs in 4.1 innings. His performances have dropped since his strong start to the season.
RJ Schreck homered for NH, his eighth and his fourth in the last seven games. Just as the Jays have a logjam at shortstop, they also have one in the OF as Schreck and Pinango look for a promotion. Edinson Paulino also homered, his third.
Vancouver were held to five hits, all singles. Jackson Wentworth went four innings, six K's but four runs allowed on five hits.
Dunedin had 13 hits, and 11 walks. Every hitter had a hit. Edward Duran continued his hot streak with a hit and two walks. Dunedin has a very balanced attack, seven hitters are hitting between .250 and .300, the other two are just under .250. Any hitter can carry the team in a game and in this game they all contributed.
Three pitchers each threw three innings for the FCL Jays. Johnny King one hit allowed, five K's. Holden Wilkerson, two hits, three K's. Samuel Colmenares, three hits, four K's. It was Wilkerson's first professional appearance. The 21 year old signed last summer as an 18th round pick out of the Virginia Military Institute. Notes from last year say going back to VMI to finish his degree was very important for Wilkerson so I presume that's why he is only starting to pitch now.
Josh Kasevich had three hits. Could he and Leo Jimenez be back with Buffalo next week? Aldo Gaxiola, highlighted in yesterdays MLU, had two more hits to get his average up to .313.
