NOTES
The Buffalo game was a pitchers contest with just three runs scored between the two teams. Adam Macko needed 83 pitches to get through his four innings. He was wild, six walks in those four innings and just two strikeouts. He only gave up one run so the outing was somewhat of a success. But 41 strikes and 42 balls needs improvement. Macko mixed four pitches, getting one whiff on each pitch for four total. His FB averages 91.7 but hit 94.1.
Macko was followed by Devereaux Harrison who had two shutout innings and then Ryan Jennings who had one. Both are trying to get the measure of AAA. Harrison threw 22 sweepers, 9 4-seamers and one curve. He had four whiffs on the sweeper. His FB averaged 91.7 with a high of 93.3. Jennings threw 16 sinkers, 7 sliders, 3 curves and one change. He had three whiffs. His sinker averaged 94.7 with a high of 95.9.
Michael Stefanic had two of the Bisons six hits. Orelvis doubled in the only run for Buffalo.
Vancouver had excellent pitching not allowing a run until the ninth inning. Jackson Wentworth was the starter and he went five innings, five hits, four K's. Javen Coleman pitched the last two innings. He now has 16 innings pitched in high A. He has a 0.81 WHIP and 26 K's in those 16 innings.
The C's had seven hits and nine walks. Alexis Hernandez and Jay Harry each doubled and singled and drove in a run.
Landen Maroudis made the start for Dunedin and he gave up one run in four innings. He did walk three and struck out two. It was what we expect from Maroudis at this point, FB around 90 mph, mixed five pitches, got just four whiffs.
The Jays won in the eleventh. Kendry Chirinos hit a fly ball 371 feet, far enough to move the runner to third. Tucker Toman then singled to get the walk off win. Toman was the only player with two hits. Toman seemed to be finally putting it together by hitting .329 in June but he is back to hitting .246 in July. Most of the new hitting draftees have hit the ground running in Dunedin. It is similar to 2024 with Parker, Micheletti, etc. The true test for these college hitters is Vancouver.
