After a zero win Saturday, the affiliates had just one win on Sunday. Buffalo split a doubleheader. Just two hitters had a multi hit game, three hitters had more than one RBI. And all of these hitters play for Buffalo. In addition to the losses, Dunedin were no hit just to cap the weekend.

NOTES

RJ Schreck and Riley Tirotta homered in game one for Buffalo. Add in a two run single by Josh Kasevich and that's all six runs. Schreck's home run was a three run shot. Both Schreck and Tirotta have batting averages under .200.

Josh Fleming started and went four innings. Columbus scored two off him. Brendon Little walked two in his inning of work.

In game two Charles McAdoo hit his fifth home run, Josh Rivera hit his fourth. Josh Kasevich had two hits.

The second game went to extra innings where a Yankee hit a two run home run off Devereaux Harrison. CJ Van Eyk started and was charged with three runs in 4.2 innings.

Fernando Perez is still trying to figure out AA. In his second inning a walk, double and home run put NH down 3-0. He went three innings. The bullpen gave up the other three.

The Fisher Cats had just four hits, Eddie Micheletti hit his third home run, Jace Bohrofen had a double, Sean Keys a single.

Vancouver took a 3-0 lead to the seventh and lost 9-5. Gilberto Batista, piggybacking with Landen Maroudis, was off today. Three hits and four walks led to four runs. Two relievers added five more. As mentioned Maroudis started and went 3.1 innings, one hit, one walk, two K's, no runs. His ERA is 1.69.

The C's had seven hits by seven different hitters. Arjun Nimmala and Dub Gleed doubled.

Dunedin were no hit. They only struck out five times and they had six balls hit at or over 100 mph so it was a lot of hitting the ball to the wrong place.

Troy Guthrie started and gave up a run in four innings.

Vancouver had a nice win streak going to get back close to .500. Too bad they lost today. They have a six gamer this week against the Hops at the Nat.

Maroudis is finally nailing the comeback and I'm so here for it. Some signs that Barriera might be pulling it together too. If they get back their former prospect status, having the two of them and Johnny King all tearing up A ball would be a sweet outcome. Oh, and also Nolan Perry? Daniel Guerra?

Just stay healthy boys!

Current offensive standouts (OPS):

McAdoo (AAA) - .912
Pinango (AAA) - .857
Kasevich (AAA) - .786
Keys (AA) - 1.249
Bohrofen (AA) - 1.017
Micheletti (AA) - .895
Hornung (AA) - .897
Toman (A+) - 1.051
Nimmala (A+) - .850
Ramon (A) - .885
Parker (A) - .859

Nimmala and Kasevich have quietly improved their numbers after a rough start. Keys now has more HRs away from the home short porch, and Toman may be regaining his prospect status.

i'd like to see all of Keys/Micheletti/Bohrofen up in AAA soon. I have at least some hope for all 3 of them being real prospects.

Bisons could easily dump the likes of older guys like Tirotta/Lantigua/McCarty/Ward to make room.

no obvious candidates in A+ to be pushed up into AA behind them unless Toman keeps up his performance (no need to rush nimmala up yet imo), but there'd be no harm in pushing 25yr olds like Cunningham and Williams up at their age and see if there's anything to the big numbers they're putting up at the lower levels.

Though now that I think about it, both Pinto and Arias are likely slated for AA this year and are just in Dunedin for rehab stints.

It will be very interesting to see what Jake Cook looks like in the FCL. I imagine they've held him back in the FCL to work on a re-tooled swing.
