NOTES

Cutter Coffey had a big game in the first New Hampshire game. Coffey has been struggling this season but he had a 3-4 game with three RBI. He had the only multi hit game.

Chris McElvain started and walked three of the first four hitters. That led to two Binghamton runs, their only runs in the game. McElvain went six innings with five K's.

Game two was a bullpen game and the offense took a break for a few innings. The Fisher Cats didn't have a hit until the fourth inning but then they scored five runs between the fourth and fifth innings. NH had just five hits so the win was down to timely hitting rather than lots of hits. Jay Harry and Patrick Winkel (new catcher) each drove in two runs. Harry also drove in two in game one for a four RBI day.

Vancouver were shutout with the hitters being relatively silent. The C's picked up five hits, with Tucker Toman and Dub Gleed having two each, that means there were a lot of oh-fers.

Danny Thompson Jr hadn't allowed an earned run coming into this game but that ended in the second inning when the Hops started the inning with two singles. A double steal set the stage for a run to score. In the fourth three more singles loaded the bases and Thompson was pulled. Trace Baker let all three runners score leaving Thompson with four earned runs on his record.

Dunedin scored five runs in the second inning and held on for a 5-3 win. The five runs scored with two hits thanks to three walks and an error. The Jays had just four hits in the game. Jojo Parker and Blaine Bullard are both hitting .219 while Juan Sanchez is at .135. It is too early to be concerned as we are just a month into the season. However the FCL starts on Saturday and the powers that be must be asking should this player be back in the FCL, at least for a while? Sanchez is hitting the least while Bullard is striking out the most. I am not saying it is likely but it is something that would be discussed.

Nolan Perry started and was not quite as dominant as he has been in other starts. He struck out three in 4.1 innings and had just six whiffs. He did only give up one run on two hits. Ramon Suarez made his A ball debut. The 21 year old mixed a slider and sinker and his FB was at 91.7 mph.
