NOTES
RJ Schreck hit a two run home run in the seventh inning to put the Bisons ahead for good. He ended the night 4-5 and he is on a hot streak this week. Over his last four games he is 11 for 16 with six extra base hits. He has also walked three times and only struck out once. The Bisons had two other home runs, Riley Tirotta hit a three run shot, his fifth. Josh Rivera added a solo homer. Josh Kasevich had three hits.
CJ Van Eyk struck out seven in 3.2 innings. He was charged with four runs, all unearned thanks to a Kasevich error. Kasevich was playing third base in this game.
Landen Maroudis started game one for Vancouver. He walked the lead off hitter in the fifth and was pulled. In his four innings plus he struck out three but walked four. He also gave up four hits so he was in trouble all evening. The bullpen gave up most of the runs and took the loss. Dub Gleed homered to start the game and later Alexis Hernandez also went deep. Hernandez and JR Freethy had two hits each.
The C's were held to four hits in game two. Starter Gilberto Batista gave up five runs in five innings. He hasn't got going this season as evidenced by his 8.46 ERA.
Silvano Hechavarria made another rehab start for Dunedin and it didn't go well. He did get the first two outs but then single, walk, single scored a run. Then Juan Sanchez made an error to extend the inning and Hechavarria lost the plot. He threw three wild pitches while walking the next hitter. That made it 27 pitches and he was done.
The D Jays had just four hits. Their first run came from a Dariel Ramon double followed by a Jojo Parker single. Parker added a second hit and walked. The Jays scored their second run without the benefit of a hit.
The FCL Jays scored seven runs with four hits. They also walked ten times and the Yankees made four errors. The 18 yo Korean Seojun Moon made his pro debut and threw two innings, one hit, one walk, two K's. He was followed by Miguel Pantoja. Pantoja is an 18 yo Mexican. He pitched in the DSL last season and did OK except he walked too many hitters. This year he has hit the ground running. Over two games he has thrown seven innings with just two hits and more importantly one walk. He has struck out nine and still has a zero ERA. Its a good start.
