NOTES

The Worcester bullpen held Buffalo to three singles and no runs. Austin Voth started and pitched well but Pat Gallagher, who had been going well, was charged with three runs.

In the first New Hampshire game Chris McElvain threw six shutout innings with four K's. Eddie Micheletti hit his sixth home run, a solo shot. Victor Arias singled in Adrian Pinto with the other run. NH had just five hits.

In the second game Alex Amalfi made the spot start. He did well for three innings but gave up a couple of runs in the fourth. Nate Garkow, who like Gallagher, had been pitching well, gave up three runs in the seventh. When you start the inning with three walks and then hit a batter, its hard to escape.

The Fisher Cats were held to four hits, Jay Harry and Nick Goodwin each doubled and singled to account for all four hits.

Daniel Guerra had an unusual start, he pitched 3.2 innings, or eleven outs. Ten of the eleven came via a strikeout. Because of the strikeouts his pitch count was high, 74 for 3.2 innings. Guerra was followed by Danny Thompson Jr, usually a starter. Both Guerra and Thompson were charged with one run each.

The C's hit three home runs. Alexis Hernandez hit his third, a solo shot. Carter Cunningham's ninth and Manuel Beltre's third were each two run home runs. Peyton Williams, who should be in AA, had three hits and Kendry Chirinos had two.

Two Dunedin pitchers combined on a five hit shutout. Jack Nedrow started after being signed earlier this week. He pitched six innings mixing five pitches. His FB averaged 90.5 mph. He did get 11 whiffs on 40 swings. In total he threw 72 pitches so 40 swings suggests the hitters thought what they were seeing was hittable. He did a good job keeping them off balance with five K's.

With Brandon Barriera and Brayden Heidel going on the 7 day IL, the Jays promoted Edgar Gallegos from the FCL. He followed Nedrow with three shutout innings. Gallegos had appeared in two games in the FCL with mixed results. That didn't matter on Sunday, he just allowed one hit in his three innings. Gallegos also threw five pitches and his FB averaged 91.8 mph. He had five whiffs on 21 swings.

Aldo Gaxiola hit his fifth home run, a two run one in the ninth inning. Juan Sanchez had two hits including an RBI double.
