Vancouver Canadians
The Vancouver Canadians lost 8-4 Friday to the Hillsboro Hops at Hop Stadium.
Vancouver could not get key hits when they needed them as they left 13 on base and went 3-16 with runners in scoring position.
Troy Guthrie went six innings, allowing four runs on five hits as well as three walks and three strikeouts.
Alexis Hernandez had three hits and a run in four trips to the plate as well as an RBI. Ryan Sprock was 2-4 with an RBI.
The series continues today in Hillsboro. Landen Maroudis (1-8, 6.86 ERA) gets the nod for the Canadians. First pitch is at 5:03 pm PDT.
New Hampshire Fisher Cats
The New Hampshire Fisher Cats lost 5-4 to the Somerset Patriots on Friday.
The Fisher Cats tied the game at two in the bottom of the sixth when Dub Gleed’s two-run homer scored Jorge Burgos.
The Patriots got three in the top of the ninth to make it 5-2, and New Hampshire did add two in the bottom of the ninth to make it 5-4, but that is as close as they would come.
The Fisher and Somerset Patriots play again today, starting at 6:03 PM ET. Danny Thompson Jr. (2-2, 3.41 ERA) will start for the Fisher Cats.
Dunedin Blue Jays
The Dunedin Blue Jays game against the Bradenton Pirates was postponed due to rain.
Dunedin and Bradenton play today at 6:30 pm ET. Carson Messina will start for Dunedin (0-1, 5.00 ERA) while a Bradenton starter has not been announced.
Buffalo Bisons
Home runs aplenty for the Buffalo Bisons as they won 7-6 Friday over the Rochester Red Wings.
Daz Cameron, C.J. Stubbs, Carlos Mendoza, Je’Von Ward, and Josh Kasevich each hit a home run for Buffalo in this game.
Rochester tied the game at 6-6 in the top of the sixth on a three-run home run despite Buffalo holding a 6-0 lead after three. This included back-to-back solo shots by Stubbs and Mendoza to make it 5-0.
Josh Kasevich’s solo shot in the bottom of the eighth gave the Bisons the lead 7-6 and was the game-winning run.
Buffalo and Rochester play again today. Game time is 6:35 pm ET. Chad Dallas gets the start for Buffalo (0-3, 3.33 ERA).
