NOTES
The Bisons have not done well with rehabbing major league starters. On Saturday Shane Bieber put the Bisons in a 3-0 hole. The Bisons did come back to tie the game but as soon as they did Conor Larkin gave up four runs and that was too much to come back from.
The Bisons had eight hits, Josh Rivera had two. Sean Keys had a double as he acclimates to AAA.
New Hampshire had to go to extra innings to get the win. In the eleventh Eddie Micheletti Jr doubled in the winning run for a walk off win. Micheletti was the only hitter with two hits. Nick Goodwin and Carter Cunningham each had a double and two RBI.
Chris McElvain had been pitching well but hit a speed bump on this day. He only lasted 3.1 innings and Altoona scored seven runs off him. McElvain's command was off as he walked five.
Tri-City scored in six of their eight innings to easily beat Vancouver. Tri-City beat up Holden Wilkerson for six runs in five innings.
The C's had seven hits, Dub Gleed had two including a two run home run in the eighth inning.
Dunedin had nine hits, the 8th, 9th and lead off hitters combined for six hits with two each for Raimundo De Los Santos, Dariel Ramon and Eric Snow. Yorman Licourt hit his eighth home run, De Los Santos hit his first of the season. Jojo Parker and Blaine Bullard each had one hit, Juan Sanchez was shut out.
Blake Purnell started and went five innings, one run allowed.
The FCL Jays had 15 hits. A trio of rehabbers helped out as Cade Doughty, Jean Joseph and Hedbert Perez combined to drive in eight runs. Don't expect to see them in the FCL next week. Owen Gregg had four hits including a double and a home run. He is hitting .459 with an OPS over 1.100. Gregg doesn't deserve to be in the FCL but with the shrinkage of the number of minor league teams and players he has to stay until a spot opens up. Reynel Campos played only his second game in two and a half weeks. Campos usually catches but played 1B in this game. He had two hits including a home run and walked twice. Angel Guzman had just one hit, a down day for the hot hitter.
The Italian pitcher Giacomo Taschin only gave up one hit in four innings, he struck out seven. Taschin is pitching well, a 0.96 ERA and a 1.02 WHIP.
The DSL has completed its first week. The one name that has stood out among the prospects there is Gabriel Porras. The shortstop is hitting .467 with a .600 OBP. The big dollar signing, Juan Caricote, is off to a slow start, hitting just .143.
