Jake Bloss faced the same team for the second time this week and improved from giving up eleven runs to just one. Buffalo won behind him. New Hampshire took an early lead and made it stick. It was Johnny King day in Vancouver and his eight strikeouts and a Sam Shaw home run were enough for the win. Dunedin trailed into the ninth inning when new legend Giaconino Lasaracina turned a loss into a win. In total four wins!

NOTES

Jake Bloss faced this St Paul team on Tuesday and was charged with eleven runs. Back to face the same team on Sunday he was excellent, 4.1 innings, just one allowed. He only had one strikeout but he did have two double plays behind him. He induced six ground balls as against no fly balls. He was removed after 4.1 innings and 61 pitches so it seems that the Jays are still managing his workload.

Jay Harry homered to lead off the game. The Bisons went on to score three runs that inning. Eloy Jimenez and Jevon Ward had RBI singles. Charles McAdoo hit a two run home run in the second inning. Jimenez and Ward later added a second RBI hit. Jimenez ended up with three hits, Ward and Harry had two each.

New Hampshire had a four run second inning. Hedbert Perez hit a two run home run, Patrick Winkel singled in a run and Cade Doughty added a sac fly. That was a good start for starter Chris McElvain but he couldn't get through the third inning. Five walks and six hits in 2.2 innings only led to three runs. Three relievers shutout Reading the rest of the way. Dub Gleed was the only hitter with two hits.

Vancouver scored two runs in the first and two more in the second inning. Sam Shaw hit a two run home run in the first inning, a lefty on lefty opposite field shot. Manny Beltre homered in the second inning before Eric Snow singled in run number four. In total the C's had nine hits, Snow, Maddox Latta and Mathieu Vallee had two hits each. Vallee is from Quebec and was signed as a free agent in February. He had been a college player but then spent two years playing for Trois Rivieres in the Frontier League. Its only nine games in Vancouver but he is hitting .364.

I have noted Snow before, he is a shorter guy, 5'8", so his power is limited. But he can hit. He is hitting .342 in 19 games in Vancouver and he has ten walks versus just six strikeouts. He has mainly played shortstop in high A.

It was Johnny King day. He cruised through the order the first time but in the fourth inning a double and a home run scored two. A third run scored in the fifth but was unearned due to a double error on a play. King went five innings and struck out eight.

Dunedin trailed 2-1 headed to the ninth. Blaine Bullard had an infield single. With one out Arjun Nimmala walked. With two outs Giaconino Lararacina hit the wall in left centre for a double and two RBI. and that was enough for the win. The Jays had just five hits with Nimmala having two of them. Has Nimmala done enough rehab to be back in NH next week?

Newly acquired Denis Samudio struck out six over five innings while allowing one run.
