Buffalo outhit Worcester 8-4 but lost. All of Worcester's four hits were doubles, that helps them. It also didn't help that Buffalo pitchers walked seven. Both Worcester runs came from a walk followed by a double. It was a bullpen day with Devereaux Harrison starting.
Nick Goodwin was the only Bisons with two hits, a single and a double. He has hit the ground running since his promotion to AAA.
Like Buffalo NH outhit their opponents 9-6. They were leading 4-2 until Somerset scored four runs in the sixth. Nolan Perry started and went three innings plus one hitter in the fourth. He was charged with one run on one hit and three walks. The run scored after he left the game. Perry was limited to 54 pitches. It is uncertain if the Jays are limiting his innings generally or if it is related to his getting hit on the head. Perry's innings high prior to this season was 46. He has thrown 62 this year and with a month left he is on track to hit around 75 this year, assuming the Jays limit his innings. As this is his first year back from surgery the Jays might just be being cautious with him. Daniel Guerra came out of the bullpen to throw two innings in his AA debut.
NH scored two runs in the first inning, Dub Gleed homered and Carter Cunningham singled in Hedbert Perez who had walked. Cunningham doubled in the third and Eric Snow drove him in with a single. Perez added a solo home run in the fifth for the fourth, and last, run. Cunningham ended the day 3-4.
Landen Maroudis took to the mound for the C's and continued his second half resurgence. He went five innings and only gave up one run on one hit and three walks. He struck out four.
The game was tied at three all into the bottom of the ninth. There were two walks on base when Jake Casey came to the plate. He homered for a three run walk off home run. The C's also scored three runs in the second inning. A walk and a hit batter put two men on again. Bryce Chance singled in one and Jojo Parker singled in two. Parker had just one hit and struck out three times. Casey added a single and had two of Vancouver's five hits.
In Dunedin Owen Carapellotti hit his first Blue Jay home run in the sixth inning, a two run homer. He hit his second home run in the seventh, a solo shot. Ryan Cooney hit his first pro homer last night, he hit his second tonight, also a two run home run. Another newbie Dameury Pena was 3-4 with a walk and a triple. Pena played 25 games in high A in the Twins system so assigning him to Dunedin was a step back. Vancouver has Jojo Parker, Ty Southisene and Dariel Ramon in the middle infield so it would be hard for Pena to get at bats there. It could still be a challenge when players are assigned to start 2027. Aldo Gaxiola doubled with the bases loaded in the first inning to pick up three RBI.
Jack Nedrow, who has played all over the system this year, went five innings. Tampa scored one run off him but Nedrow had just one strikeout.
