There were seven games on Good Friday, the affiliates won six of them. There was a strong roster of starters who pitched well, Joey Murray, Nick Fraze, Hayden Juenger, and Ricky Tiedemann. Orelvis Martinez and Zak Cook homered in each end of the doubleheader but another Fisher Cat hitter pipped them for the third star. Tanner Morris homered and went 4-5 with two walks over both ends of the doubleheader. Meanwhile PK Morris hit a grand slam in extra innings to help Vancouver sweep their doubleheader.

Buffalo and Dunedin recorded nice wins. Buffalo laid a whuppin' on Rochester while Dunedin beat the Yankees affiliate in Tampa. Samad Taylor hit a grand slam.

Vancouver were the only winners Wednesday. Buffalo's game in Rochester was postponed due to unplayable field conditions. Those two teams will play a doubleheader Friday.

Buffalo and New Hampshire won. Vancouver and Dunedin did not.

Three wins out of four games. Unusually the first star comes from the one loss. Rafael Ohashi dominated through four innings and the bottom fell out once he left the game. There were several other good pitching performances on Sunday. The top hitter was Garrett Spain who had three hits and eight total bases.

It was a tough night on the farm for the affiliates. New Hampshire had the only win and that in a rain shortened game.

The Bisons suffered their first loss of 2022 to fall to .500. Meanwhile, Vancouver celebrated the return of baseball at Nat Bailey Stadium.

The defending International League East Division champion Buffalo Bisons opened the 2022 season with a one-run win at home.

It's almost time for some minor league baseball. This year, because of the lockout, some minor league baseball will start before the major leagues. Buffalo start on Tuesday. The other three teams start on Friday, the same day as the Jays.

The top 40 prospects in the Toronto Blue Jays farm system have been announced by Baseball America. However, it is really a Top 37 ranking as three of the players are no longer with the organization.


Spencer Horwitz enjoyed a breakout season in 2021 with Vancouver to place him in the top half of the Baseball America Blue Jays prospect rankings.

The Blue Jays had a lot of players who could have made the back end of the top 30 list. It was hard to pick who should be in the top 30 and who just missed. So here are the 31's, all of whom are worth watching in 2022.

The top 10 features four returnees from 2019's top 10, eight returnees from the top 30 and two players who are new to the system.

The middle ten of our top prospects has a lot of new blood. Drafted players in 2021 and 2020, along with international signings, provide seven of our middle ten.

As mentioned yesterday, the Blue Jays top 30 prospects returns after a hiatus last season. As you would expect there has been a lot of turnover from the 2019 list. Seven prospects graduated. This includes pitchers Nate Pearson, Alek Manoah, Thomas Hatch and Anthony Kay. The hitters who graduated are Santiago Espinal, Alejandro Kirk and Reese McGuire.

Nine prospects are no longer in the organization. Simeon Woods Richardson, Patrick Murphy, Kendall Williams, TJ Zeuch, Yennsy Diaz, Griffin Conine, Riley Adams, Josh Winckowski and Hector Perez. That leaves 14 holdovers, twelve of whom are on this years top 30. The two exceptions are Maximo Castillo and Dasan Brown.
