Tim Hudson threw a complete game against the Jays patchwork lineup yesterday afternoon in the Jays 4-0 loss to Oakland.

* Jays Notes - Kershner gets the start again today, an update on injuries, and a new injury - this time to DLS.

* Elliot on Baseball

* Blue Jay Watch - Hinske and Rios make adjustments at the plate.

* Athletics do just enough to grind out win - Team gears down vs. shaky Hentgen.

* Pair of taters jolt Blue Jays - Hentgen struggles to get outs early, pays dearly later.

* Baseball America's Draft Tracker - It appears that Stephen Drew will go first to the Padres tomorrow while Jered Weaver has turned into the draft's biggest question mark due to his potential bonus demands.

We'll have full Blue Jay draft coverage here in Da Box tomorrow. The Jays first pick should come around 1:30.

* Today's Game - The Jays face a lefty. Redman vs. Kershner, 4:05 pm.

This might be the wrong place to post, but has the Rob Neyer interview happened yet?

Maybe Weaver will fall to the Jays and he'll go Rick Sutcliffe on the league and win the ROY (not the CY, but close enough) on the strength of a half season. *wakes from dream filled slumber*

If Weaver went to the Jays, he'd probably get hurt. :-(

Speaking of players getting hurt:
I don't remember much from the 1992 Blue Jays season, being 5 years old, but why didn't Stieb pitch in the postseason? I tried to piece his season together from Retrosheet and his last game was August 8, a 3-inning start. Was he hurt?

Callum, I'm afraid the answer might be "yes." The reason I word my response that way is that the e-mail portion of the interview tapered off pretty quickly after it got started. Neyer has been pretty unresponsive, although he was pretty positive about the idea and about the first round of questions (there were four).

That said, it's not intended as a criticism of Neyer; any response he gives is on his own time and wholly voluntary, of course. I'm going to give it a little more time before proceeding with what I have and then post on Sunday if there is nothing additional forthcoming.

Thanks for asking.
