Here's another oldie to tide you over until the season begins. This time, it's the view from inside the Jays' dugout, as seen on April 6th, 2004, approximately three hours before game time.

There are some other quite fun pictures on the Jays ESPN website. Some are fairly funny-ODog just looks hilarious and Hinske is grabbing himself in one.

Another nice one Hank. I really like the perspective of this shot. Of course I know almost nothing about photography outside of what I learned in my intro course last term but at least now I can appreciate the subject a little.

And totally off-topic, but I bought MVP '05 last night and man do I suck. On the easiest level I was unable to hold the D-Rays to under 15 runs per game in a 3 game series. Might have something to do with the fact that I havent played a baseball video game in about 10 years.

Fantastic. With the rounded lines, it looks like the view from a great big eyeball.

Thanks, gents.

Next week is Frank Menechino hitting a home run.

Maybe this is the best place to report that Chris Michalak has signed with the Jays, and will be invited to spring training, according to THT's Lee Sinins.

You'll get the hang of it pretty quickly, just wait for your pitch and don't try and do too much with it. Take what the pitcher gives you and try and drive the ball.

As far as pitching goes, just work the corners and when you get ahead in the count try and make the batter chase yours.

Good to see Michalak kicking around. Always love seeing guys refusing to give up. His minor/major league stats are located here for those who are curious.

He sucked big time last year, with a 5.18 ERA in Indy and 6.35 in Albuquerque. His career ERA's are 4.41 in the majors, 4.83 in AAA, 5.73 in AA, and 2.96 in A ball. Funny that it is better in the majors than in AAA or AA. He is nothing more than AAA fodder I'd think but who knows.

If anything, Michalak could teach the staff a move to first. He's got a heck of a pick-off. If the Jays are going to walk over 600 batters again this year, his secret might come in handy.

The trouble is that Michalak's move was eventually ruled a balk. Coincidentally or not, umpires calling the move a balk heralded the end of his run as an effective pitcher in his 2001 stint with the Jays.

I hope he does well-Michalak was my favourite player on that 2001 team, which for reasons that are sort of complicated is my favourite Jays squad-but I'm not holding my breath. Good for him for hanging on, though.

He's going to have to teach them to throw left-handed first.

Here's a photo of Alex Rios that will warm the snowbound fan's heart.

I am pleased that the organization encouraged a lighter off-season for Alex this year.

Another excellent photo, NFH. Someone just pointed me to this exellent photo collage that someone made of Skydome and surrounding area taken from the skypod in the CN tower. It's made up of 18 merged photos.
