In seven games the Jays affiliates scored fifteen runs, or just over two per game.  Despite that the affiliates went 4-3 in those games thanks to some strong pitching performances.  Does that sound like a major league club you know?  Michael MacDonald, Ricky Romero, Brandon Magee, AJ Wideman, Nate Starner, Wilfreddy Aguirre and Brad Cuthbertson all pitched well.   Justin Jackson had three RBI's.

Syracuse 1  Norfolk 3

Mike MacDonald gave up a run one two hits in the first, and two runs on three hits in the second, then one hit over the next five innings.  MacDonald pitched seven innings giving up six hits.  John-Ford Griffin homered for the Chiefs only run, Russ Adams was 3-4 to raise his average to .260.

New Hampshire 3  Portland 1

Ricky Romero was good and bad in this game.  He was facing Portland for the second time in five days and he held them to just two hits in 4.1 innings.  On the other hand he allowed five walks and was done after 4.1 innings.  The teams traded unearned runs and the game was tied at 1 heading to the ninth.  Aaron Mathews led off with a walk and Rob Cosby doubled him to third.  David Smith hit a sac fly for one run and Ryan Patterson singled to drive in another.  New Hampshire won despite having only four hits, two of them came in the ninth inning.

Daytona 4  Dunedin 1 - game 1

Brandon Magee pitched a complete game, the seven inning variety, and he was not helped by his defense.  Jesus Gonzalez made two errors in the fifth inning as Daytona scored twice.  The fourth Daytona run was also unearned due to a throwing error by Eric Neilsen.  Magee's line was 7 8 4 1 1 4.  Dunedin only run was scored on doubles by Chris Gutierrez and Gonzalez.  The Jays were facing Chris Samardija who pitched five innings.  Reed Johnson was the DH and went 1-3.

Daytona 1  Dunedin 3 - game 2

AJ Wideman pitched five innings and gave up one run on four hits, Robert Ray got the two inning save. Dunedin had eight hits, Josh Kreuzer had two and David Corrente hit a home run.  Reed Joshnson played left field and was 1-2 with a walk.

Lansing 2  Great Lakes 1

Pitching was the name of the game here, Nate Starner went five and gave up a run on two hits while recording eight K's; Edward Rodriguez pitched two shutout innings as did Adrian Martin, back off the DL.  Sean Shoffit had a triple and scored a run, one of six Lansing hits.  Travis Snider was 1-1 with three walks.

Auburn 0  Williamsport 2

Auburn had only four hits, Adam Calderone went 2-4 with two triples.  Both times he was stranded at third.  Wilfreddy Aguirre's line was 6.2 8 2 2 2 6,

Gulf Coast Blue Jays 5  GC Yankees 1

Justin Jackson went 2-5 and drove in three runs.  Brad Cuthbertson started, went five, and got the win.

Aaron Mathews and Travis Snider both went 1-1 with 3 walks yesterday.  Mathews went 3-5 today, including a triple, and is now hitting .350.  A promotion is definitely in order.  Snider has been plunked twice today.

Sergio Santos has not appeared in the Fischer Cat's lineup over the past couple of days. Any word on why?

Santos' wife is having a baby.

One Scott Sauerbeck pitched for Dunedin today, the latest signing for depth I assume.
