The title of tonight's MLU is dedicated to a promotion tomorrow night by our High A affiliate. A worthy promotion. What's your favourite baseball promotion?

Buffalo Bisons

Buffalo got spanked. I will highlight the three-for-three day by Ian Parmley.

New Hampshire Fisher Cats

New Hampshire walked off in the tenth. Jonathan Davis had the game-winning single. Francisco Rios worked three scoreless innings in his first start since early May. Shane Dawson followed with five innings of one-run baseball. Steve Pearce was held hitless in his first rehab appearance.

Dunedin Blue Jays

Max Pentecost led off and decided that a walk is never a bad thing. He had two. Bradley Jones continued his scuffles since his call-up. He was 0-fer and kicked a ball at third base. Angel Perdomo pitched five innings of one (un)earned run baseball. Two walks and four strikeouts for the big lefty. Apparently there is a beer, bacon, and fireworks promotion tomorrow, which sounds like just about the greatest thing. What’s your favourite promotion?

Lansing Lugnuts

First, what did baby Vladdy and Bichette do? Well, Monsieur Guerrero had three hits and three RBIs. Two of those hits were doubles. Bo had two hits and one RBI, and doubled just the once. There’s really no second with Lansing now that Bradley Jones has been promoted.

DSL Blue Jays

Our most junior affiliate is up and running and has started their season strong with four wins. They picked up their first loss tonight, falling to the “No. 1” Diamondback DSL affiliate. It’s my understanding that none of the current roster are considered July 2 bonus darlings, but usually a few have good years and earn promotions to one of short-season affiliates stateside the following year.

Three Stars

3. Ian Parmley

2. Shane Dawson

1. Vladimir Guerrero Jr. and Bo Bichette

Was thinking "10 cent beer night", but it's gotta be "disco demolition night". As you may guess, I love ill-conceived.

Mike Bolsinger is sent outright to the Bisons and thus his passing through the waiver means his contract is not sought after.... is it time to bring Campos or Valdez up?

No question Vlad and Bichette are too good for low A ball. 344/429/505 is a nice line, but 385/455/621 is even better. Both are over 200 PA now and due for a shot at the next level.

Meanwhile Bradley Jones is hitting 326/394/560 at age 22 (well, 21 so far but will turn 22 on the 12th). He sucked in his 21 PA's in Dunedin (498 OPS) but at 22 you want to push him hard and see if he is something or not. However, Dunedin has Cavan Biggio at 2B hitting 263/361/379 at age 22 so I'd leave the two of them where they are for now.

So I vote for Dunedin to get a new left side of the infield of Bichette at SS, Vlad at 3B. Keep Biggio at 2B. Current SS Kevin Vicuna is just 19 and sucking so move him back to Lansing (494 OPS) if he isn't already back down there.

I too would like to see Vlad and Bischette moved up. Hopefully after the AS game June 20th.

I don't worry about too many players at one position. SS for example has Urena, Bichette and Gurriel all converging in their development. The team can figure out the solution.

Is anyone yet prepared to add either Andrew Guillotte or Andrew Case to a prospect list? Check them out.

Speaking of catchers, Danny Jansen hit his second EL homer tonight.  He's 22 and more than holding his own at double A so far.

Have the complete rosters for Vancouver and Bluefield been announced yet or just a few random tweets?
Gerry - Sunday, June 11 2017 @ 01:11 PM EDT (#343296) #
The rosters will be announced in the next day or two. As usual the teams want to announce first. Our own #2JBrumfield will be at the Vancouver team introduction.

Man Jansen's AA line is looking every bit as good as his A+ line, and nearing the same sample size now too.

Doing it at A+ is nice but a 22yr old C mashing AA like this is a pretty big deal. If he keeps it up, for example, it's significantly better stuff than D'Arnaud did in AA at the same age (and of course well ahead of the likes of arencibia and gomes at the same age).

any extended ST stats this year?
bpoz - Sunday, June 11 2017 @ 09:12 PM EDT (#343317) #
Thanks uglyone. I know that Jansen is a favorite of yours. I also have high hopes for him.

I din't ask for the extended stats. In previous years I found they weren't a very good predictor of second half performance. I still could ask I guess.

Our own #2 JB has the C's roster. He posted the full roster on twitter (niall_odonohue or C'splusbaseball) as he is at the team introduction.

Among the hitters are Kevin Vicuna who spent time with the Dunedin Jays, Reggie Pruitt and Chavez Young.

Jose Espada is the youngest pitcher, born in 1997. Dalton Rodriguez and Juan Nunez are the 1996 birthdays.
