Buffalo's pitching wasn't good and they lost. Dunedin also were put in a hole they couldn't get out of. The FCL Jays split a pair.

NOTES

It was a bullpen game for Buffalo starting with recently promoted pitchers. Hunter Gregory just allowed one run, not bad compared to others. Devereaux Harrison gave up four. Ryan Jennings did not give up a run but he walked two hitters. Amir Garrett is now with Buffalo, he pitched an inning with just one walk. Kevin Gowdy gave up six in the seventh.

Another new player to Buffalo is Buddy Kennedy, recently released by the Phillies, who played first base. Michael Stefanic had three hits, Jonatan Clase doubled twice. Yohendrick Pinango homered.

Kendry Rojas was outstanding, five innings, two hits, no walks, ten K's, 75 pitches. Unfortunately Conor Larkin took the L by giving up a run in the eighth. Just two hits for NH.

Fernando Perez is starting to figure out high A. On Thursday he threw five shutout innings, six hits, no walks, five K's. The game was scoreless until the seventh. In that inning Cutter Coffey doubled and later scored on a sac fly. In the eighth Coffey singled in the second run. In the ninth Hillsboro walked in two runs before Coffey doubled in two runs. Coffey ended at 3-5 with three RBI. The C's had just five hits, Coffey's three were immense for the Vancouver win.

Colby Holcombe was out in the second inning, five runs allowed. Eliander Alcalde also was not good. Dunedin were down 8-0 after four innings.

The D Jays rallied some, scoring six runs with nine hits. JR Freethy, recently activated, went 4-4. RJ Schreck on rehab walked three walks. Alexis Hernandez homered.

The FCL Jays had 14 hits in game one, David Beckles and Aldo Gaxiola each had three hits. In game two the Jays had six hits, Brock Tibbets had half of them.

Spent time reading scouting reports and watching video today. Here's how I would set up my draft board if I were drafting for the Jays on Sunday in Round 1:

1. Ethan Holliday, 3B (HS)
2. Kade Anderson, LHP (College)
3. Kyson Witherspoon, RHP (College)
4. Ike Irish, OF/C (College)
5. Jamie Arnold, LHP (College)
6. Billy Carlson, SS (HS)
7. Marek Houston, SS (College) - under slot
8. Eli Willits, SS (HS)
9. Liam Doyle, LHP (College)
10. Kruz Schoolcraft, LHP (HS) - under slot
11. Seth Hernandez, RHP (HS)
12. Wehiwa Aloy, 3B/SS (College) - under slot
13. Daniel Pierce, SS (HS) - under slot
14. Jo Jo Parker, SS (HS)
15. Aiva Arquette, "SS" (College)

What's the thinking with those "under slot"?
Is it that the 7th and 8th are almost equal and hence should only get 8th slot money?
Or is it something else?

It's players projected to go lower that could likely be had for less than slot.

Prep LHP out of Florida Aiden Stillman feels like the type of pitcher the Jays would try to float down to the 3rd round if they save a little money in the first.

Or they could grab Kyson W. and his twin brother Malachi W.

Or Jo Jo Parker and his twin brother Jacob.
