I basically wouldn't have relievers on prospect lists at all. Other than that, tons of some differences but only huge difference is I'd have Rojas probably #3/4 and I'd have Orelvis a lot lower. He already had defensive questions last year but defensive questions and can't hit after steroid suspension is a bad combination. Surprised Shaw was dropped too. Looks like an easy top-25 guy to me.

Can't understand Kendry ranking so low. Other quibbles as well, but that one to me is most egregious.

Way too low on Rojas. But unless a DSL player is a million dollar+ sign, they always get a little shafted in favor of college/high school players that have quote, unquote more proven history. There's a bit of an unconscious bias in baseball.

Rojas is a clear SP while Stanifer, who has some electric stuff, has major reliever risk. And even Yesavage is kind of a one-pitch guy right now and needs to show the ability to get outs consistently with other offerings.

Rojas already gets whiffs on 3 pitches - but his knock has been health.

I think it's Yesavage - Rojas - Stephen... and then Stanifer but the gaps aren't huge between them. I might even flip Rojas and Yesavage.

It's important to note their in-season prospect rankings are incremental, so Rojas is not going to move up that far on a prospect list during the season.

Besides, quite a few of these names likely won't be on this list at all in 10 days time.

My personal top prospects. I like doing it in tiers generally.
Tier 1
Nimmala
Parker

Tier 2
Yesavage
Rojas
Stephan
King
Tiedamann
Stanifer
Roden

Tier 3
Tons here: McAdoo, Duran, Schreck, Kasevich, Pinango, high new draftees this year, etc...

Polanco was Jays biggest IFA bonus and he looks like a dud so far. Their second biggest bonus (I think) was Juan Sanchez and he looks great. Just hit his 6th HR tonight. 1.000 OPS, walking a fair bit. Not getting super excited about DSL guy but someone to watch.

Some Blue Jays content in today’s BA Hot Sheet chat. Here’s one exchange:

Are the Blue Jays now a top 12-15 farm system?

Geoff Pontes
I think they are very much in the conversation for that range after the draft. It's a really talented Top 10.

BA also thought that Rojas and Stephen might receive some top 100 consideration before too long.

Jays have reached verbal agreement with top 2028 IFA Angel Montas. What a dumb system.

updated top 30

There’s been a pitching revolution in the Toronto pipeline this season. Trey Yesavage’s entrenchment in the Top 100 is the headliner, but solid seasons by Johnny King, Khal Stephen, Kendry Rojas and Juaron Watts-Brown (with the stuff to match) have pushed each of those arms into or higher up the club’s top 10 list. Don’t sleep on Yohendrick Pinango and Victor Arias as breakout bats either.

I am liking Cutter Coffey a lot. His hitting improved a lot June & July with Avg over 300. So far in July his bb/k is 10/11. I doubt he will be promoted to AA but maybe. Hope his D is good. Has a strong arm.

Fernando Perez has been improving each month in Vancouver. I believe he is not considered a power pitcher so instead a control/command type pitcher?
