On an otherwise night to forget down on the farm, Denis Diaz sparkled in six innings of work.

Buffalo 3 ROCHESTER 6

The Bisons lost, but Ryan Goins continues to hit as he doubled yesterday. Chris Colabello, who is still looking for the person who spiked his workout mix with a banned substance, is hitting .196. The Colabello over Valencia decision doesn’t look great.

BINGHAMTON 3 New Hampshire 2

The Fisher Cats lost, but Rowdy Tellez had three hits including two doubles. Jorge Saez had three hits as well. Jeremy Gabryszwski allowed three earned over five innings on eleven hits. Like to see what John Stilson’s velocity is at—anyone know?

DAYTONA 4 Dunedin 1

Dunedin played two yesterday and lost both. In game one, the Baby Jays were one-for-nine with RISP. Dickie Joe Thon had two doubles and stole a base. Chris Rowly went seven innings in relief.

DAYTONA 7 Dunedin 6

In game two, Anthony Alford homered and the Baby Jays again were abysmal with RISP—going two-for-twelve.

GREAT LAKES 5 Lansing 1

Justin Maese pitched six innings of two run baseball. He struck out five and walked one.

Spokane 0 VANCOUVER 4

Our first win on the night comes out in Vancouver, where the Canadians blanked the visiting Spokane squad. Denis Diaz pitched six shutout innings of one hit baseball.

BLUEFIELD 14 Pulaski 9

Bluefield made up for a lot of poor hitting on the farm last night by clocking 10 hits and scoring fourteen runs. It was an ugly game though as the two teams combined for six errors and ten unearned runs. Vladimir Guerrero Jr. had a hit and two walks. Bradley Jones had two doubles and five RBIs.

GCL Tigers East 3 GCL BLUE JAYS 4

Mitch Nay made an appearance and struck out twice. Manuel Harazo had three hits and three RBIs.

DSL PADRES 7 DSL Blue Jays 6

Anyone know anything about minor league RHP Richard Reina, bought from Mets today? Seems inconsequential, but curious.

Seems odd actually as he has spent many years in DSL and at rookie level. Jays must see something in him as there is no apparent need for bodies at this level. I too would like to know more.

I wonder if Ramirez & McGuire were placed on the DL partly so that coaches can work on their swings/approach?

Javier Monzon, an older (23)under the radar Cuban who apparently played in Spain has had a nice run albeit much too old for Bluefield but he probably hadn't played much while waiting in the DR for clearance - Maybe starts next year in Lansing & see if he's legitimate.

I don't see Valencia anywhere other than Buffalo either, so I don't think that decision matters that much.
Valencia would be more useful, I guess.

On the Around the Nest podcast where the affiliates' announcers discuss the Jays prospects and minor league teams, the New Hampshire broadcaster said McGuire has a shoulder injury (curse of catcher of the future) and Ramirez they hope will play again before the season is done. The AAA broadcaster Ben Wagner also said Pompey's been making mental mistakes again in the OF. My guess is this is why he's been sitting out the past few days, as they've done that to him in the past over some poor base running mistakes.

Also 85bluejay I believe on the Around the Nest podcast they said Javier Monzon hurt himself I believe while running the bases and is out for the season. I'm pretty sure that's who they said.

Ramone, was there any more specific information about the exact nature of the McGuire shoulder injury?

PeterG, they didn't give any specifics about McGuire's injury other than stating it was a shoulder injury.
