Just two games for the Blue Jay farm on the eve of the short season, and neither came out in favour of the good guys.

Richmond 3 @ Syracuse 0

Back in Syracuse, Chad Gaudin picked up where he left off as a SkyChief, hurling 8 strong innings, allowing 3 runs on 9 hits and, most impressively, striking out 8 while walking none. Unfortunately for him minor league vet Seth Greisinger teamed up with Jason Childers to stifle the Syracuse bats on just 3 hits and 4 walks. Kevin Barker (2 BB) and Chad Mottola (BB, HBP) each reached base twice. Spike Lundberg set the Braves down in order in the 9th.

Erie 6 @ New Hampshire 3

The 6th inning was the undoing of the Fisher Cats, as Sea Wolves put up a 4-spot. Most of the damage was inflicted with Jamie Vermilyea on the mound, as he allowed an Ismael Ramirez inherited runner to score as well as 3 markers against his own record, including a 2 run homer. Ramirez’ line for the night was 5+ innings, 2 runs (1 earned) on 3 hits, 4-2 K-BB. Brian Reed and Bubbie Buzachero finished up, Reed allowing a solo homer in his 2 frames.

Erik Kratz smacked a 2-run dinger for New Hampshire, the only extra-base hit they would manage. Miguel Negron tallied two base knocks, while Clint Johnston one-upped him by also drawing a walk.

The Second Star: Ismael Ramirez, New Hampshire. 1 earned over 5 innings.

Pulaski's roster is posted. Auburn's has not been posted yet. The Of for Pulaski is Butler, Cooksey, and Patterson. The pitchers are Biglie, Brynes, Carnline, Delgadillo, Reidier Gobzalez, Sowers, Stidfole and Berroa. Celigoy and Looze play 1b, Shoffit and Stone play 2b, Hatch plays 2b, and Bernhard plays SS. C's are Bohm, Quintana, and Martinez.

Snyder wasn't "demoted" to Dunedin. He's been on the DL of New Hampshire all year and hasn't played. Now that he is finally healthy again, he was "transferred" to Dunedin's roster to rehabilitate before he can start back in New Hampshire again.

kpataky - you caught me. I figured it would take up too much space to put "Activated from DL and transferred to Dundein", so I got lazy.

IF (6): Marshall Bernhard, Josh Celigoy, Anthony Garibaldi, Joey Metropoulos, Emmanuel Sena, Sean Shoffit.

DO NOT take these as gospel.

Also, I think Casey McKenzie is going on the DL, opening up a spot for Ricky Romero.

Re: Pulaski

Scratch Trent Luyster and Brian Pettway
and add Matt Foster and Zach Kalter.

Good news that Kalter signed!

So where does Pettway end up?
Lansing perhaps?
MatO - Tuesday, June 21 2005 @ 04:03 PM EDT (#120200) #
I wonder what they see in Kalter. He seemed to split his time between hitting and pitching, doing neither particularly well. He slugged under .300 in 76 AB and is listed as a OF when drafted. I heard that Lalonde was high on him but I can't see why.
Mike Green - Tuesday, June 21 2005 @ 04:06 PM EDT (#120202) #
Aha, a Matt Foster sighting. That's great news if it's true. Roster confirmation is difficult at this time of year.
MatO - Tuesday, June 21 2005 @ 04:29 PM EDT (#120209) #
milb.com seems to be up-to-date now with pretty logical looking rosters. Their ages even make sense this year!
Ducey - Tuesday, June 21 2005 @ 04:53 PM EDT (#120212) #
JC,

Pettway is not signed. When he eventually is I would figure he would go to Auburn would he not?
Pistol - Tuesday, June 21 2005 @ 04:58 PM EDT (#120213) #
The Jays in the past haven't started drafted players above Auburn (although it's not uncommon for a player or two to get promoted during the year). I can't imagine that Pettway would be any different, especially when all indications are that Romero would start in Auburn.
JC - Tuesday, June 21 2005 @ 05:15 PM EDT (#120214) #
Ducey, that would certainly explain why he hasn't been assigned anywhere, wouldn't it? :)

Thanks for the update.
Jeff Geauvreau - Wednesday, June 22 2005 @ 05:31 AM EDT (#120251) #
I cannot wait to see how Matt Foster pitches. This will be very interesting.
kpataky - Wednesday, June 22 2005 @ 08:42 AM EDT (#120262) #
Mike Snyder went 1-2 in game 2 of last night's double dip for Dunedin. So the rehab and long journey back begins.
JC - Wednesday, June 22 2005 @ 10:10 AM EDT (#120269) #
2B Jeremy Acey has been activated from Lansing's DL and placed on the Auburn roster. I Casey McKenzie is going on Auburn's DL, so their roster is at the maximum 30.

Pulaski is sitting on a roster of 32. It looks like C Joshua Lex and SP Derek Tate went on the DL.

2005 Draft picks Alex McRobbie (24th round) and Trent Luyster (30th) haven't been assigned anywhere yet it seems, although they are signed according to BA. (Not to mention Ricky Romero is in limbo right now as well)
