It's a pretty good crowd for the Blue Jays.
And the manager gives me a smile.
'Cause he knows that it's me they've been coming to see
To forget about the Leafs for awhile.;D

As pointed out by Bauxite PeteMoss in this thread, the Blue Jays have re-claimed catcher Brian Jeroloman on waivers.  That comes after he was claimed by the Pittsburgh Pirates five days ago.  The Pirates designated Jeroloman for assignment after they signed free agent infielder Clint Barmes.

Brian Jeroloman signs an autograph for a fan in New Hampshire in 2009.

The re-claim of Jeroloman means the Jays have 39 players on their 40-man roster.  Also today, free agent second baseman Kelly Johnson spoke with MLB Radio about his new status under the new Collective Bargaining Agreement.  In a nuthshell, he's pretty happy about the new development in which the signing team will not lose a draft pick and the former club will get two picks - the pick before the highest one they would have received under the old rules as well as a supplemental pick. Sportsnet's Shi Davidi, in his piece on the new CBA, believes the Jays may not sign Johnson and take the two draft picks in 2012.

Kelly Johnson checks his swing during a September 11 contest against Baltimore at the Dome.  The 29 year-old second baseman hit .270 in 33 games with Toronto in 2011.

so if the old rules apply, I guess we have to hope St. Louis or Detroit like Johnson? since the dodgers already screwed up and signed Ellis?

We know for a fact: MLB: J.P. Arencibia; AAA: Travis d'Arnaud; AA: A.J. Jimenez.   So baring a trade, this is the List.   Therefore, signing Brian Jeroloman means he backups J.P. at the MLB level, while Yan Gomes http://www.baseball-reference.com/minors/player.cgi?id=gomes-001yan backs up Travis in AAA..

If A.A., for some reason, is not ready to move d'Arnaud to AAA, Jeroloman will then start in AAA.  There is no other reason that makes sense, especially in this offseason.

I don't think so. Gomes would be wasted in AAA unless one of Cooper or McDade leave the organization, there's just not enough at bats.

On the other hand, there's no one at Dunedin that demands to be promoted to play 1B or DH in New Hampshire, so they can plug in some org player filler there and give Gomes more at-bats by having him circulate 1B, DH, and C in AA

Jeroloman will almost certainly back-up d'Arnaud (provided they don't lose him on waivers again before spring) which is fine because he's clearly not a guy who's going to get better with more at-bats.

Can the catcher
Hit like Delgado?
With the Doctor
In Philly, oh dear ....

The fans sit in the stands,
All clapping their hands
Chanting  "It's time we won something here!"

It doesn't matter whether a trade is a straight-forward player-for-player swap or a three-way, I prefer them fully clothed.

As for the returning home part of the Life of Brian, "welcome back" seems like the only appropriate comment.

If you prefer your transactions fully clothed, why do you want a "bare" trade?

This gives new meaning to a coach's admonition to "bear [bare] down." I would hate to see any Jays' hurlers escorted off the field based on a phonetic misinterpretation.
