Here is a quick look at the latest happenings on the farm, Blue Jays style!

Good news for Canadians heading to Buffalo Bisons games at Coca-Field. WIVB in Buffalo says Canadian cash money will be accepted at par for tickets and merchandise during the month of April. That will help with the loonie struggling to get to the 80-cent level!
Treating Canadian spenders as if they were paying with U.S. currency is expected to help bring in residents during a typically less active month for fans.
Ballpark Digest says the Star Wars uniform craze will continue in the minors with the Bisons and the New Hampshire Fisher Cats among the teams taking part.
This year marks the sixth consecutive year the Bisons players will have their own Star Wars Nights Jerseys. This season’s Jedi Robe Jerseys are brown and tan, resembling the classic Jedi outfit. The robe is opened slightly on the jersey to reveal the Knight’s primary weapon, a holstered lightsaber. The Bisons Star Wars Night logo is featured on the jersey’s left chest.

Also participating in the Star Wars frenzy: the New Hampshire Fisher Cats (Class AA; Eastern League) with a June 20 Star Wars promo, with the team wearing custom Darth Vader-inspired jerseys.
If that's not enough, Ballpark Digest says the Fisher Cats will also wear Back to the Future jerseys to celebrate the movie's 30th anniversary July 17.

Switching to Dunedin, The Globe And Mail says the Jays and city officials are trying to hammer out a deal to continue their spring training marriage.
Although things are far from finalized, it appears the Blue Jays and Dunedin are working on an agreement to develop a new training complex that will keep the team in town for another 30 years. The new facility – with a bigger ballpark and updated amenities – could cost anywhere from $50- to $80-million, according to various projections...In exchange, the baseball team will sign a long-term lease to play there.

It hasn’t been announced, but the Blue Jays have already held discussions with the Philadelphia Phillies about sharing Bright House Field in neighbouring Clearwater should construction prevent Toronto from playing spring games in Dunedin.

The Toronto Observer says B.C. native Justin Atkinson is now donning the ignorant tools.
‘At first I thought they were just adding it to my utility,” said Atkinson. “I’ve asked them and I don’t think they’ve given me a definite answer if I’m going to be behind the plate 100-percent, but it seems to look that way and I’ve taken it upon myself to change and to adapt into that position.”

The T.O. Observer also has stories on lefthander Scott Silverstein, infielder Richard Urena, catcher Dan Jansen and southpaw Evan Smith.

Chris Colabello crushed two home runs for Buffalo today as the Bisons defeated Scranton/Wilkes-Barre by a 13-10 score in an exhibition game.  I think Colabello could be a useful piece for the Jays this season -- possibly a Juan Francisco type who could have a hot month or two if the Jays need a 1B or DH at some point. Kevin Nolan also homered for the Bisons today, and Jonathan Berti had 3 hits.

Not sure which Buffalo pitcher suffered the scoring damage today, but apparently Korecky and Rasmussen each pitched 2 scoreless innings.

If trading Navarro would open a roster spot, the 4 men bench after the catcher can cover as much position as possible. For example,

Tolleson: IF and corner IF
Pillar: all OF

which then leave 2 bench spots. Squeezing as much offensive capabilities as possible in least numbers of players ? So the 5 men bench will consists of
C - Thole ?
IF/LF/RF Tolleson
OF Pillar

2 players who need not play in minor leagues to improve personal performance. In other words, no keeping players in Buffalo to keep up their performance. Of the players in that category:
C/1B/3B/LF/RF Fox
1B Colabello,
2B Ramon Santiago
2B/SS Kawasaki
OF Dickerson

In other words, the above players are disposable. Because of Tolleson's covering of multiple positions, picking the best 2 offenses from this list of players ? Colabello and Dickerson ? Or sending Tolleson to Buffalo to keep Kawasaki ?

Do 1B Barton, IF Diaz, OF Carrera, OF Gindl need to improve some personal performances ?

The Jays have signed a young RHP. Joel Espinal 6'2" 185 lb, DOB 8/15/1996.

I will wait until the team leaves for Montreal to find out who is on the roster.

I know, well at least I hope some Bauxites have given some thought to who plays where on our minor league teams. If anyone has thought about this, please share your opinion.
