NOTES
Columbus hit four home runs, two off Adam Kloffenstein and two more off Nick Sandlin. Sandlin only got one out.
The Bisons had six hits with three doubles. Michael Stefanic had two of the doubles and scored the only run. Joey Loperfido had the third double and drove in the run.
One week ago Orelvis Martinez completed a three hit night and had seven hits in his last three games. Since last Thursday Orelvis has gone 0-21 with eight strikeouts.
Trey Yesavage had command problems in his first AA start. He walked the first three hitters in the game, then walked the lead off hitter in the second. He escaped by allowing just one run. He managed to complete four innings using 68 pitches, striking out four. Was his wildness just nerves with his AA debut, was he giving the hitters too much respect, or was it just a bad night? We eagerly await his next start probably Wednesday next week.
Rafael Sanchez, who just threw a no hitter, seems to have lost his starters place to Yesavage. Sanchez came out of the bullpen on Thursday and it didn't go all that well. He was charged with three runs, two earned, on five hits in three innings.
Edinson Paulino hit his sixth home run. He also had two singles. Devonte Brown also homered and he added a single. Jace Bohrofen doubled in a run.
Gage Stanifer made his first start for Vancouver now that his partner Yesavage is in AA. The first four hitters he faced all reached base. He struck out the next two hitters but then an infield single and a walk left Vancouver down 3-0. He pitched three more innings with just one hit off him. In total he struck out ten hitters over four innings.
The C's had a pair of five run innings, five in the first and five more in the third. Spokane helped the C's with nine walks and three errors. The C's ten runs came off just six hits. Sean Keys and Hayden Gilliland each had two hits and drove in three runs.
Dunedin played one inning before the rains came for a second day in a row. They are scheduled to play two doubleheaders in the next three days.
