Vancouver’s come-from-behind 7-4 victory against Tri-City Wednesday night was their second straight to start this week’s homestand.

Hayden Gilliland's three-run homer in the bottom of the seventh was his second as a pro, and it broke a 4-4 tie.

Javen Coleman earned his third save, and Austin Cates struck out 10 for his first start at Nat Bailey Stadium.

Irv Carter surrendered a three-run homer to Adrian Placencia that made it 4-1, but he still got the victory.

Vancouver and Tri-City play the third game of their series today at 7:05 pm PDT.

Buffalo Bison

The Bisons were 4-1 winners on Wednesday over the Scranton Wilkes/Barre Railriders with Alek Manoah throwing 4.2 innings and Adam Macko handling another 4.0

Manoah allowed one earned run against two walks and four strikeouts, while Macko allowed only one hit with four K’s.

RJ Schreck had a home run, triple, two runs and three RBI’s to lead the Bisons in this one at the dish.

Buffalo is now 48-69. The two teams play again today at 5:15 PM ET, and another game to follow after that in a doubleheader.

New Hampshire Fisher Cats

The New Hampshire Fisher Cats won 6-2 on Wednesday using a strong four and a half innings pitched from Alex Amalfi and the continued strong play of Charles McAdoo at the Double-A level.

The Akron RubberDucks scored two in the fifth but New Hampshire had already made it 4-0 with a two-run blast from McaAdoo that scored Victor Arias.

Chay Yeager tossed an inning of relief as well to get the victory and Kendry Rojas got the save.

New Hampshire and Akron play today at 6:35 PM ET.

Dunedin Blue Jays

The Dunedin Blue Jays won both games of their double-header against the Lakeland Flying Tigers Wednesday by scores of 7-5 and 7-1.

In Game One, Dunedin were behind 4-0 after one inning but scored six in the next two frames to lead 6-4.

In Game Two, Dunedin lead right off the hop and only allowed one Lakeland run in their half of the third and scored three runs in the fourth and sixth.

Dunedin and Lakeland play today at 6:30 PM ET.

Is Javen Coleman a guy? On one hand he's an almost 24 yr old reliever in High A. On the other, this is his 1st season in the minors and running an impressive K rate, while cutting back his BB rate since promotion.

Is it velocity/stuff or mostly deception/location?

Coleman: 92-95 mph FB, SL, SINK, CH

He's a prospect... age isn't as important with pitchers, especially relievers... and ones that spent 4 years in college.

It's interesting that Loperfido was playing 1B - good insurance for when people realize France was a Colorado mirage.

Thanks Marc. Was hoping his 4 seam velo was higher, but I'm guessing he must have at least one plus secondary.

I was thinking of shoehorning Barger and Jimenez into this comp but since they (deservedly) graduated from AA in the midst of their 22yr old seasons it just didn't make sense. Same would apply to Clase and Orelvis.

Note in this comp that Roden/Wagner/Horwitz are all the exact same ages, Schreck is slightly younger (i.e. has no 25yr old data in AAA), and Schneider is slightly younger still (i.e. no 24yr old data in AA and 23yr old data in AAA). Loperfido slightly older (i.e. no 23yr old data in AA).

Stats as of first MLB callup season:

AAA

OF Schreck (24-24): 127pa, 14.2b%, 18.9k%, .333babip, .295avg, .238iso, 154wrc+
UT Wagner (24-25): 383pa, 15.9b%, 10.2k%, .360babip, .337avg, .128iso, 150wrc+
OF Roden (24-25): 428pa, 11.9b%, 12.6k%, .346babip, .320avg, .186iso, 145wrc+
UT Schneider (23-24): 367pa, 18.5b%, 22.7k%, .310babip, .268avg, .260iso, 141wrc+
UT Horwitz (24-25): 686pa, 15.7b%, 16.5k%, .364babip, .309avg, .146iso, 134wrc+

IMO Schreck is starting to look more promising than any of these late developing guys were, with the best topline numbers, and less babip help than the others too.

Schneider arguably more impressive than Schreck due to age too, but it's close. Schneider more impressive than the rest due to age tho imo, and the fact he put up an elite line in AAA with no babip help.

I know some want Loperfido back up here but for me the next guy up has to be Schreck.
