A 2-3 night on the farm but some signs of encouragement came in Central New York Tuesday night. New Hampshire, Lansing and Vancouver were off. No score from the DSL as of press time.
A winning Monday night for a change as the affiliates won four out of seven despite being on the wrong side of a no-hitter. New Hampshire came up with a rain dance to preserve a win. Buffalo had the night off.
New Hampshire scored 16 runs with great performances from their hitting and pitching. Buffalo won both games in a double header versus Syracuse, and Vancouver lost a 19 inning marathon.
Noah Syndergaard beat the Fisher Cats by not allowing an earned run in seven innings. Brett Lawrie had 2 hits DH'ing in that game. Vancouver laid down a beating. The GCL Jays won both ends of a doubleheader.
Elsewhere the news was not as good. Buffalo and Dunedin had chances to tie the games in the ninth but fell short. Lansing were one hit. Bluefield had just five hits.

Ryan Schimpf hit a three run home run to deliver a one run win to New Hampshire. Four teams suffered walk-off losses, Buffalo in the ninth, Dunedin in the 11th, Vancouver in the 10th and Bluefield in the 13th. Lansing lost a walk-fest.
Brett Lawrie was hitless. Among prospects Pillar and Gose were also without a hit, AJ Jimenez had a couple including a big fly, Burns had one, Nessy also hit one out, Michael Crouse had three hits, Matt Dean had two. Deck McGuire gave up five runs in five innings.

Comebacks galore as a few clubs must have been watching
Independence Day today before playing on Independence Day. Bluefield came from behind, Dunedin walked off, and New Hampshire would have too if it weren’t Kevin Ahrens. The affiliates were 4-4 on the day.

Roberto Osuna had his worst career outing, could another visit to the doctor be coming soon? Sean Nolin had another fantastic start for New Hampshire, with offensive help from Ryan Schimpf. Dunedin lost in extra innings, despite a strong outing from Aaron Sanchez.

The affiliates finished with three wins in five tries Tuesday night with all starting pitching performances rating from awesome to half-decent. The GCL Blue Jays had a doubleheader rained out while Dunedin and Bluefield had the day off.
In other words, not as much detail in this one. The affiliates lost four of five, including a shutout and an extra-innings loss.
This afternoon the farm was 3-2, with Dunedin's game versus Tampa suspended in the second inning. DJ Davis and Mitch Nay continued to hit well early into the season for Bluefield. Kevin Pillar had another monster game Buffalo this afternoon again.
There were four close games at the top of the system last night. Ricky Romero had the Bisons in the lead but he let it slip away. Kevin Pillar got the lead back with his first AAA home run but the bullpen gave up the lead and lost it. Similarly in New Hampshire a lead in the seventh turned into a two run loss courtesy of the bullpen. Dunedin had a four run lead until an error made it a one run lead but they held on for the win. Lansing out hit Great Lakes 11-4 but again the bullpen let four runs score without a hit and the Lugnuts lost by a run.
Vancouver took an early lead and won. Bluefield had their hitting shoes on and had such a big lead that the bullpen didn't blow it. The GCL Jays were the opposite down early and by a lot.

There were a couple of wild wins on the farm Friday. Bluefield led 9-1 after two innings but the lead disappeared by the middle of the eighth. The Jays were able to push across a run in the bottom of the eighth to win. The GCL Jays trailed 3-0 but came back to lead 5-4 in the ninth. The save was duly blown but the Jays rallied to win in the tenth. Buffalo scored five runs in the ninth to make a one run lead a six run win. Dunedin won a close game, New Hampshire and Vancouver were well beaten and Lansing were all wet.
Some rough games on the farm tonight. Our High-A affiliate lost 6-2 and went 1-11 with RISP. Brett Lawrie went 2-3 and Kyle Drabek pitched two innings. Our GCL team lost 9-0. Our Low-A affiliate lost 8-1 and Roberto Osuna was outpitched by another prospect. Our AAA affiliate lost, but managed to put up a gallant fight at the end. Bluefield eked out a win and New Hampshire came from behind to win on a night where Sean Nolin was OK. Vancouver won in the late one.

Kevin Pillar had a career night with 4 doubles for Buffalo. New Hampshire won both games of a double header, while the younger Blue Jays prospects continue to excel in Bluefield and the GCL.
A 2-5 Tuesday on the farm with one game cut short due to Mother Nature.
