It's Rule 5 draft day, and so today's question concerns prospects. Which minor league player that you saw (or studied for fantasy league purposes) surprised you the most, positively or negatively, when he arrived in the Show?

Mine are Pete Incaviglia and Rusty Greer.

I have to go with Johan Santanna here as being the one that showed me the most. As far as who showed me the least, the list is numerous.

Albert Pujols... his numbers were good in the minor leagues but they were never THAT good.

Yeah, I agree with Marc. Albert Pujols for sure.

Having gone to many Vancouver Canadians games during the summer of 1997, I ended up quite surprised by Todd Greene. I saw one game during which he had a homer and two near homer doubles and something like 10 RBIs by the fifth inning, after which he sat. He looked like a god. So did Jose Cruz. Mark Bellhorn didn't look like much, FYI.

Having seen Albert Pujols come through Lansing when he was with Peoria, I would have to agree that he was a surprise, but I didn't get to see him as often as I did the Michigan team that Johan Santanna was on. That team featured Roy Oswalt and Tim Redding as well. Compared to those two at that level, Johan looked very very average.
