Edward Rogers III has taken over from his father Ted as the controlling owner of the Jays.  A Western grad, Rogers is the President of Rogers Cable division.

No idea what this means for the Jays if anything, but, it's interesting to note that the official ownership remains in the Rogers family.

A person would think this makes the chain of command interesting.  The Manager, Cito Gaston, answers (although he's on a direct line with Paul Beeston) to the GM, presently J.P. Ricciardi, who answers to CEO/President Paul Beeston (who has almost carte blanche to do what he needs).  Paul answered to Ted as Grand Pooba of it all.  How does it work now?  I can't see him answering to Edward III, that's can be considered a step down.  His chain should go to the new Grand Pooba, sidestepping Ed III, at need.  Anyone with a better idea?

The new corporate grand poo-bah (President and CEO) is Nadir Mohamed,  who's been running Rogers Wireless since 2001. The late Ted Rogers Jr was positively obsessed with restoring his family honour (his father was a broadcasting pioneer who died young and the family lost control of his business) - but Ted III, who's been running Rogers Cable and takes over as the official Blue Jays owner is still on the light side of 40 years old and might be a little young for the shareholders. (Mohamed is 52.)

Phil Lind always seemed to hover around Ted whenever there would be a free agent signing, or an interview about something off-field related. He's been doing a lot of work for the Bills in Toronto and other Rogers Sports and Entertainment things. I think he's definitely a liason between the team operations and Rogers.
