And that's pretty much it.  Two rainouts limited the affiliates tally to a 1-3 night on the farm.

Sacramento 5 Las Vegas 2

Las Vegas, NV - It was a less than stellar outing for lefty David Purcey overall.  He worked a one-two-three first but had to strand two runners in the second and three in the third.  His luck ran out in the fourth as the A's affiliate used a single, double, a ground out and a sacrifice fly to score a couple of runs.  Purcey worked a one-hit fifth but got back into trouble in the sixth.  An error by Kevin Howard at third, a single and a walk loaded the bases and Sacramento brought in all those runners with two singles and a sac fly to go up 5-0.  Bubbie Buzachero was called upon to get the final out of the inning which he did via the strikeout.  He pitched a shutout seventh despite giving up a double.  Sean Stidfole overcame two singles and an Angel Sanchez error at short with two punch outs to work a shutout eighth and Jonah Bayliss pitched a clean ninth.

After being shut out by Chad Reineke over the first seven innings, the 51's finally got on the board against River Cats reliever Brad KilbyRandy Ruiz singled home a Joe Inglett double and J.P. Arencibia singled home a David Dellucci base knock for their only other run.  Las Vegas had 10 hits and two walks in this one and Inglett led the way with two doubles and a single.  Dellucci also reached base thrice with two hits and a walk.

As for Purcey, he gave up five runs (only two earned) on eight hits and four walks while striking out four.  Only 59 of his 107 pitches were strikes and only three outs out of 13 were on the ground.

New Hampshire 3 Binghamton 2

Binghamton, NY - The B-Mets threatened to get to New Hampshire starter Marty McLeary with a pair of one-out singles in the first but the former Padre and Pirate bailed himself out by starting an inning-ending 1-6-3 double play.  The Fisher Cats would score all three of their runs in the third.  David Cooper delivered a two-run single to plate a Brian Jeroloman single and a Todd Donovan walk.  Brad Emaus would follow with a bases loaded walk.

The Mets did all their scoring in the fifth with two runs on three singles and a walk against McLeary, who would be replaced after a single and strikeout in the sixth by lefty Rommie Lewis.  He gave up just one hit and struck out three in 2 2/3 innings before turning it over to Danny Farquhar and he retired the side in order with a strikeout to collect his second save.  McLeary scattered seven hits, a walk, a wild pitch and struck out four to collect his first win of the season.

New Hampshire had only three hits and six walks in this one and yes sir, one was drawn by Jeroloman so the "BJBB Meter" stands at 33!  He and Brian Dopirak were the only Fisher Cats to draw a hit and a walk each.  Cooper is now 5-for-11 with a walk, a homer and 4 RBI in three games since returning from the disabled list.

St. Lucie @ Dunedin - Postponed Due To Wet Grounds

Doubleheader to be played today at 5:00 p.m. EDT.

Great Lakes 3 Lansing 2

Midland, MI - The first inning provided an indicator on how this one was going to go.  The Lugnuts wasted a one-out triple by Tyler Pastornicky in the top half while the Dodgers affiliate used a leadoff walk, stolen base, single and a wild pitch from lefty Jonathon Anderson to score the game's first run in the bottom half.

The Lugnuts did grab a 2-1 in the lead with a pair of runs in the third.  Pastornicky doubled home a Luis Fernandez single to the game.  Pastornicky would advance to third on a Josh Walter wild pitch and then stole home on the front end of a double steal with Brian Van Kirk, who had reached on a walk.

The lead was short-lived when Kyle Russell took Anderson deep in the bottom of the third to tie the game at 2-2.  The Loons then went ahead in the fourth with a leadoff single, a walk by former Jay farmhand Anthony Hatch and another single to plate the go-ahead run.   Ryan Koch got the final out with a strikeout in relief of Anderson, who gave up three runs on four hits and four walks while striking out two in 3 2/3 innings.

Koch went 2 1/3 scoreless frames, scattering three hits with three strikeouts while Dustin Antolin and lefty Hunter Moody also contributed a scoreless inning a piece with Antolin whiffing two and Moody whiffing one.  Just as impressively, the Lugnut bullpen did not issue a walk.

The Lugnuts only had five hits in this one on a three-hit night by Fernandez and a two-hit night by Pastornicky, who also collected his 35th stolen base of the season. The number three through nine hitters were a combined 0-for-23 with two walks.

Jamestown 7 Auburn 6 (10 Innings)

Auburn, NY - The Doubledays appeared to have this one well in hand as they had a 5-1 lead after six.  Auburn fell behind 1-0 in the fourth but rallied for a four run inning in their turn at bat.  The scoring came courtesy of an RBI single by Jack Murphy, a throwing error by Jammers pitcher Curtis Petersen that allowed a run to score, a Luis Hurtado base knock and an Eric Eiland fielder's choice.  Eiland scored the fifth Auburn run in the sixth when he was hit by a pitch, stole second and came home on a Welinton Ramirez safety.

Lefty Matthew Wright gave up only one unearned run in five innings while giving up just two hits along with a K-BB mark of 6-0.  Brian Justice provided more law and order with a perfect sixth.

However, four errors by the Auburn defence helped the Marlins affiliate rally for three runs in the seventh and two more in the eighth to grab a 6-5 lead.  Zach Outman, brother of A's hurler Josh, gave up three unearned runs on two hits and a walk in 2/3 of an inning.  Austin Armstrong surrendered another unearned marker with a K-BB mark of 1-1 in 2/3 of a frame and Casey Beck yielded an unearned run on one walk while striking out three in 1 2/3 innings.  Beck would wind up with a blown save but not the loss as the D-Days rallied for a run in the eighth.  Jimmy Gonzalez, who made the first error of the seventh from third base, drew a bases loaded walk to score Jonathan Fernandez with the tying run.

Jamestown would get the go-ahead run in the tenth against "Mayor" David Miller who issued three walks and a double while striking out two.  Bradley Glenn had a two-out double to bring the tying run to the plate for Auburn but Gonzalez struck out to end the game.

Auburn racked up 11 hits, six walks and five stolen bases but a 3-for-19 showing with runners in scoring position and a whopping five errors helped do them in.  Glenn had four hits, including a pair of doubles and Randy "Bermuda" Schwartz, the former Barrie Baycat, was 2-for-2 before he was replaced by Gonzalez.  Eiland had two of the five steals on the night.

Looking at the MILB.com game recap it looks like Arencibia was lifted for a pinch runner after an injury delay.

According to Mike Wilner's blog, Canadian Jake Eliopoulos threw in the bullpen last night. Here's what Wilner had to say:

Eliopoulos hasn’t signed with the Jays yet - he was their second-round pick in the draft earlier this month, but he was out here to throw for them. He’s headed south with the national team. I made sure to say hi and to thank him for coming on the pre-pre-game show a couple of weeks ago. He smiled politely and agreed when I said that I hoped he got signed soon so that he could come out here and pitch for real.

Checking for signings isn't too hard.  The Jays draft list signed and date signed is at http://toronto.bluejays.mlb.com/team/draft.jsp?c_id=tor which currently shows the Jays have signed none of the top 7 picks.  A total of 24 signed, 2 on the 29th of June (a 9th round LHP Aaron C Loup and a 19th round RHP Dennis R Tepera), 2 on the 19th of June, and the rest on the 14th of June.

Unsigned are picks from rounds 1-6 plus 1A, 8, 11, 15, 17, 18, 21, 30, 33, and 39 to 50.
