Dunedin St. Lucie PPD

New Hampshire 3 Altoona 0

Tri-City 7 Vancouver 5

Syracuse 7 Buffalo 6

Dunedin’s game was postponed, New Hampshire won Vancouver and Buffalo lost.

Vancouver Canadians

Tasmanian devils and dust devils are two distinct things.

The Vancouver Canadians learned that quickly on Tuesday surrending six runs in the first two innings despie a Victor Arias lead off homer.

Aaron Parker and Cutter Coffey hit back to back doubles in the fourth making it 6-2, then Je’Von Ward singled to make it 6-3.

Vancouver sits at 25-28 now, three games off the first place lead in the Northwest with 13 games to play.

The two teams play the third game of their series today at 6:30 PM PDT.

Buffalo Bison

Buffalo’s comeback fell just short Wednesday despite scoring three runs in the top of the ninth. They ended up being 7-6 losers to the Syracuse Mets on Wednesday as Syracuse was able to hold off the rally.

Even with the two run homer by RJ Schreck to kick off the second inning, the single run scored by Buffalo in the sixth proved to be their undoing.

Buffalo is now 23-34 on the season. The two teams play again today at 6:35 PM ET.

New Hampshire Fisher Cats

The Fisher Cats beat the Altoona Curve 3-0 Wednesday thanks to a Jace Bohrofen homer that made it 2-0 in the bottom of the first.

Bohrofen then scord again in the bottom of the third when Cade Doughty singled him home.

Devereaux Harrison tossed a two-hitter in this one over six innings allowing three walks and tallying five strikeouts.

Bohrofen had three hits and two RBI’s to go with two runs for New Hampshire.

New Hampshire and Altoona play today at 6:35 PM ET.

Dunedin Blue Jays

The Dunedin St. Lucie game was postponed due to rain and will be made up today.

The two teams play a double header today starting at 4:00pm ET.

Will Wagner was hit by a pitch in the FCL today. He stayed in the game for a couple of innings but left before he hit again.

Coming into today, Jays MiLB leaders in wRC+ min 100 AB's.
  • 150+: Yohendrick Pinango (AAA/AA OF), RJ Schreck (AAA/AA OF), Will Robertson (AAA OF), Sam Shaw (A/2B)
  • 140's: Jackson Hornung, Edward Duran, Arjun Nimmala
  • 130's: Bryce Arnold
  • 120's: Victor Arias, Je'Von Ward
Sadly at the bottom is Charles McAdoo - had high hopes but after a 136 last year he crashed to a 66 so far this year - almost hope he is nursing injuries so it can be explained. Ah well. Not all prospects develop.

3 guys in AAA pounding the crap out of the ball who play the OF. Puts the pressure on Roden/Straw/Lukes/Clase I'd say - other players are ready to take over at any time. Roden in his few PA since coming back up hasn't looked confident at all has he?

Martinez and Toman having a nice 10 game run. I still have high hopes for Toman. Martinez could be a piece again at the deadline; not a huge piece but would bring back a bullpen arm.

One wonders what if - what if Jimenez and/or Kasevich had been healthy this year and had a breakout season? How would that affect the Bo negotiations? How will Bo having a good year and Nimmala showing 'wow' levels of talent in A+ affect things? I expect Nimmala to move to AA by July, spend 2026 in AA/AAA and be ready for 2027 (midseason at latest) unless he regresses at some point. So do you sign Bo to a 5+ year deal knowing you have his replacement charging up hard? Do you sign him to a 1-3 year deal for more per year than ideal just to lock in a solid SS until Nimmala is ready? What if Nimmala isn't ready in a couple of years? The variables are large. If Jimenez/Kasevich had been healthy and productive then the questions would've been different with better backups built in. Mix in that Clement and Gimenez are both solid SS's playing 2B with Barger a solid 3B forced to play RF at times due to overcrowding and it gets messier and messier.

My gut is the Jays try to get Bo on a 1-3 year deal - basically hope no one offers him a $200+ mil deal (which I'm sure he wants & expects but doubt anyone offers), then he accepts the shorter term deal to build value and return to the market under 30 still. Then hope one of Jimenez or Kasevich forces the issue in 2026 with Nimmala having a strong 2026 and ready for 2027.
