NOTES

Adam Macko had been pitching well but that all fell apart on Sunday. He came on with the Bisons winning 1-0 in the eighth and almost was hit for a cycle. He walked the first hitter and then in the inning he gave up a home run, a double and a triple. Bisons were now down 3-1. It spoiled a good start from Josh Fleming. Fleming had elected free agency after the Jays DFA'd him but he either had no better offers or he used the opportunity to renegotiate his Jays deal and he was back. He threw five shutout innings with four K's. Yariel Rodriguez threw a clean inning too.

Macko's blow up took the shine off a big day for Charles McAdoo who homered, singled and doubled. He has his average up to .325 now and his OPS to .976. The home run was his first, he needs a few more as the weather warms up.

The Fisher Cats produced 18 hits and three home runs. Sean Keys, Jace Bohrofen and Jackson Hornung each went deep. Keys had three hits, the other two had two hits each. The hit leader was Geovanny Planchart who went 4-5. Planchart is a 24 year old catcher who the Jays signed as a free agent last fall. Planchart has a career minor league batting average of .238 so its a little early to get excited about him. Nick Goodwin reached base six times, two hits, two walks, and twice hit by a pitch.

Another reliver like Macko who has been talked up recently is Javen Coleman. And like Macko he hit a speed bump in this game giving up three runs in the ninth. Fernando Perez started and went three innings. He walked four, struck out two and was charged with two runs.

Johnny King made his second start for Vancouver and this one was better than his first. He was held to just three innings, 49 pitches, but he struck out five. He was firing strikes, 36 of them versus 13 balls.

Carter Cunningham continued to lead the offense, he homered and singled and drove in two runs. Jacob Sharp and Maddox Latta also had two hits. Arjun Nimalla walked four times.

The D Jays had ten hits, seven walks and three hits batters on their way to ten runs. JoJo Parker went 3-4, one a double, with a walk and a hit batter and he drove in four runs. Blaine Bullard hit his second home run of the season, a three run shot. Jaxson West homered and was a triple short of the cycle.

Brabdon Barriera started and went three innings, three hits, two walks, one K. His FB averaged 93.1 and he threw a lot of them. 58% of his pitches were fastballs, another 30% sliders. He had just two whiffs. He is not back to his old self yet.
