New Hampshire scored 20 runs in game one of their doubleheader. Usually you hear "save some for the next game" and the team who score 20 have trouble scoring in game two. But not NH, they scored ten more in game two to sweep the doubleheader. Vancouver had two grand slams on their way to a win. Jojo parker walked off Clearwater, by actually walking. Buffalo were the only losers.

Buffalo 3 Rochester 6

Chesapeake 8 New Hampshire 10 - game two

Vancouver 14 Spokane 6

Clearwater 4 Dunedin 5 - 10 innings

Three Stars

Third Star - Jace Bohrofen

NOTES

Trey Yesavage started on rehab for Buffalo. He was OK, not great, three runs allowed in 4.1 innings. Jesse Hahn took the loss, his 9.53 ERA doesn't look good.

RJ Schreck had two hits, including his second home run of the season. Yohendrick Pinango had his usual two hits, one a bunt single.

NH had 17 hits and scored 20 runs in their first game. Jace Bohrofen homered twice, drove in five and walked twice. Sean Keys doubled twice, singled and homered. Eddie Micheletti had three hits, two of them doubles. Jackson Hornung had his usual two hits.

Another Jackson, Wentworth, threw five innings, four hits, three K's.

The offense stayed hot in game two, ten more runs on eleven hits. Sean Keys homered, his second on the day and added two singles for six hits total. His average is up to .361. Keys didn't have great numbers last season in Vancouver but plenty of prospect evaluators cited his exit velocities and plate control as reasons for optimism heading into 2026. So far Keys is proving them right. Hornung, like Pinango, is Mr. Reliable with his two more hits.

Just like NH, Vancouver had the bats working. They scored 14 runs with 13 hits. Kendry Chirinos hit a grand slam. Carter Cunningham also hit a grand slam but he added a double, two walks and he was hit by a pitch. Maddox Latta had a solo home run plus a single. Alexis Hernandez tripled twice.

Landen Maroudis was not at his best, 3.1 innings, two runs, two K's. Gilberto Batista gave up four runs in 1.1 innings.

Jojo Parker worked a nine pitch walk with the bases loaded in the tenth to walk it off for a Dunedin win. It was Parkers third walk of the game, along with being hit by a pitch. Jaxson West had two hits, he is hitting .417.

Juan Sanchez is indeed heading up to Dunedin, as @KeeganMatheson
reports.

With JoJo Parker, Blaine Bullard and now Sanchez, the DJays are probably the must-watch lineup for #BlueJays prospect fans these days. Formidable trio

Dunedin is a very exciting team and will be fun to follow. Does anyone know where Jake Cook is?

Cook had an injury at the start of the season, memory says hamstring.

Hopefully those 3 can climb the ladder together like Bo-Vlad-Biggio did almost a decade ago - how time flies. 2017 Dunedin (then A+): Vlad-Bo-Biggio together, Vlad & Bo sub 50 games there. John Schneider the manager, Romano a starter, Gurriel Jr 18 games, Jansen 31. Many others who'd reach as well (McGuire for example). Vlad & Bo were in Lansing (A ball) as well that year. I remember the high hopes we all had of seeing them play in the World Series and in many playoffs together. Oh that did happen!

Offense is on a heater to start the year in New Hampshire, that's for sure. Small sample size and all. The lefty bats (Keys, Bohrofen, Micheletti) will be helped by the short porch in right, but it's still nice to see strong performances. It would not be a surprise for all of them, as well as Hornung, to hit AAA this season.

Huge news on Sanchez, what a vote of confidence. Challenge him now and if he struggles, you can always send him to the FCL when it starts up.

From a "high ceiling boom/bust" perspective, I can't recall the last time Dunedin was this exciting on the hitting side (and even more so when Cook returns).

It's funny how quickly the strength of the system went from pitching to hitting.

Part of it was the trades that thinned out the pitching but also a focus on lower-ceiling type arms (ie lack of high-velo starting calibre arms).

And of course some good scouting and development on the hitting side.

There was an article last year by Mitch Bannon which was quite in-depth on the changes to pitching development that started both before and after Justin Lehr's arrival. That it's now less short-term velocity focused, and more about strike throwing and mechanics, with sustainable velocity gains over time. Very different from their attempt to emulate the Rays/Dodgers pitching factories. We won't really know the impact of this until down the road though, and whether or not they can create a successful program, but guys like Cates and Stanifer are examples of it in action.

Definitely trading Rojas, JWB, and Stephen has a major impact on how the system looks pitching wise (Rojas being the biggest loss). Hopefully Tramuta can find us our own Nolan Mclean.

Part of this is that we've all internally put Yesavage as graduated even though he's still technically a prospect and Tiedemann isn't back from TJ.

But yes, and it's especially notable when a bunch of marginal prospects are putting up dazzling slash lines (Licourt, Cunningham, Michelletti, Goodwin, Bohrofen).

Top 3 in the Dunedin lineup...Parker, Bullard, Sanchez. Not bad!

And Pinto back in the lineup! He didn't break!

I regard Pinto as among the best pure offensive prospects we have, along with Parker, Sanchez and Pinango.

Berrios taking it on the chin so far in Dunedin.

Nolan Perry is dominating tonight, showing Berrios how its done.

Five innings of one-hit shutout ball with no walks and TWELVE strikeouts.

That'll play.
