Chris Rowley's excellent start helped Buffalo to win. Thomas Pannone came back from suspension for a shortened start and a home run from Connor Panas helped New Hampshire to win. Angel Perdomo went five and Dunedin won in extras. Lansing had Donnie Sellers punch out eight and a couple of home runs meant another win. The run of good starts ended in Vancouver where Randy Pondler struggled and the C's lost again. The GCL Jays and DSL Jays broke the pattern, the GCL team lost while the DSL team won. Bluefield were off.

The lower half of the system came through for the Jays on Thursday. Bluefield knocked out 21 hits but had to hang on for a one run win. The GCL Jays had 14 hits and scored nine runs. The DSL Jays scored eight runs on 12 hits. Lansing won in extras but Buffalo, Dunedin and Vancouver lost. New Hampshire had a day off.

New Hampshire and Dunedin won in extra innings. The GCL Jays won in regulation. Buffalo were blown out. Vancouver and Bluefield lost tight one's. Lansing had the day off. Generally it was a quiet night on the farm with few standout performances. Several 17 year olds are delivering good performances in the Jays system. One of the most notable, Eric Pardinho, started for Bluefield last night and was popping 97's on the radar gun. 17 year old Leonardo Jimenez had two hits for the GCL Jays. And 17 year old, who you never heard of, Erickvi Celedonio had three hits for the DSL Jays.

The short season leagues are starting. Vancouver get going on Friday. On the field on Thursday, New Hampshire had the only win with TJ Zeuch dominating for eight innings. Buffalo lost with Danny Jansen driving in the only run. Dunedin also lost but Logan Warmoth is getting back on track. Lansing haven't won since they clinched a playoff spot. On Thursday they lost in extra innings after tying the game in the ninth.

Its mid-season so how are our top prospects performing? Today I rate their first halves against expectations. On the field it was a bad night. Tim Mayza gave up three runs in the bottom of the ninth to turn a two run lead into a loss. New Hampshire and Lansing lost easily. Dunedin were on their way to a big loss until they scored four in the ninth to make it a more respectable one run loss.

Short of an injury to a phenom prospect, a generally productive weekend for our hopes and dreams. Bo Bichette picked up some of the slack in New Hampshire, while the promote Kevin Smith (again) fan section got louder. On the mound, Sean Reid-Foley pitched like a top pitching prospect in Buffalo and T.J. Zeuch continues to build up his innings in New Hampshire. Don't look now, but Angel Perdomo isn't walking guys anymore!

Buffalo won 9-5 with 12 hits. New Hampshire are on a cool streak and they lost again. They have lost four of their last five games and six of their last eight. Dunedin bashed out 15 hits and won 9-3. Lansing lost 4-2 even though they outhit their opponents 9-4. Kevin Smith had a big night as did Danny Jansen. Ryan Noda hit two home runs as there was competition for the three stars.

Vlad Guerrero Jr. had to leave his game today as he aggravated his leg injury. Before he left he picked up two hits but the excitement came after he left. The Fisher Cats came back to tie the game late and then get a walk off win thanks to a throwing error. Lansing received shutout pitching to beat division rivals Bowling Green 2-0. It was a quiet night on the farm for both Buffalo and Dunedin who lost 4-1 and 3-1 respectively. The best performance for Buffalo was by Rowdy Tellez who had a couple of extra base hits including a home run off a rehabbing Jordan Zimmerman.
