Yesterday we looked at the hitters stats from extended, today it is the pitchers turn. There were 47 pitchers listed on the stats sheet but 11 of those were on rehab or were later promoted to a full season team. That leaves 36 pitchers. Of that 36, 27 threw 20 inninings or more. The most innings thrown by a pitcher was 43 by Jesus Tinoco.

The affiliates came away with a clean sweep in the U.S.A. by going 4-0 Tuesday, scoring a combined 33 runs.
I have received a copy of the hitting statistics for the 2014 extended spring training season. That season is now over and the short season teams will start playing soon. The hitting stats list 55 hiiters. However 14 of them are players on rehab assignements or players who are now playing for a full season team. I have excluded those players leaving 41 to consider. Of those 41, 21 have over 100 plate appearances. 32 have over 75 plate appearances. From a numbers perspective these stats represent approx a month worth of stats for a full season player. In extended, players play less and receive extra instruction.
A 2-2 Monday for the affiliates with the home teams faring better than the visitors. New Hampshire did not partake in any of the festivities.
Buffalo and New Hampshire won, while Dunedin and Lansing
lost. The Fisher Cats game included
strong individual performances from the pitching and hitting side.
Dunedin were the only winners on Saturday. KC Hobson drove in three of the Jays four runs. Dwight Smith, Dalton Pompey and Daniel Norris made good contributions to the win. Buffalo lost despite Dan Johnson's hitting. New Hampshire were shutout.
Lansing lost a wild one in extra innings low-lighted by bad defense. Five errors by the Lugnuts made for eight unearned runs.
Matt Newman has been scuffling at AA but he hit two home runs Friday as New Hampshire continued their winning ways. Buffalo went to extra innings and won in walk-off fashion. Sean Nolin made his first start in almost a month. Dunedin were shutout and Lansing were blown out.
The affiliates were 2-2 tonight, with Buffalo and Dunedin losing by a run. While Lansing and New Hampshire each won by 5 runs. Jeremy Gabryszwski had the best start of his career, in which he struck out 9 batters, and LB Dantzler helped out with 4 RBI.
The affiliates went two up and two down Tuesday night, highlighted by a pair of double-digit efforts in the run column.
The affiliates only got one win out of four Monday night but a local boy continues to shine in 2014. New Hampshire had the day off.
The votes are in for the Batter's Box Minor League Player and Pitcher of the Month honours for May. The winners are both from the Dunedin Blue Jays, outfielder
Marcus Knecht and lefthander
Daniel Norris.

Marcus Knecht used one first-star and three second-star selections to capture Player of the Month honours.
Daniel Norris rode three first-star selections by our Minor League crew to win Pitcher of the Month.
Blue Jays affiliates were 2-2 on Sunday, four days before the 2014 draft begins. Buffalo
lost the game, and 3 pitchers to injuries in Ricky Romero, Rob Rasmussen, and
Neil Wagner. New Hampshire won in 12
innings, Dunedin lost in 12 innings. Lansing won 7-4, despite being down 4-0 at
one point.

Deck McGuire pitched seven innings of three hit ball as the Bisons won. New Hampshire won behind PJ Walters who only allowed one hit over seven innings. Dunedin's Ben White was knocked out of the game in the fourth inning while Chase De Jong lasted less than two innings. Those two lower teams lost.
New Hampshire and Alttona played scoreless ball until the twelfth. With Andy Burns on second Altoona walked Matt Newman to face little Jorge Flores. Flores used his 5' 5" frame to single in the winning run. Radhames Liz, working his way back from injury, pitched well again. Jeremy Gabryszwski also pitched well to lead Lansing to victory. Buffalo were forced to call on Esmil Rogers to start and he pitched well for a while until he ran out of gas. The Bisons were unable to come back and took the loss. Dunedin were rained out.
Not much going on down on the farm tonight besides a stellar Taylor Cole outing. Buffalo, New Hampshire, and Lansing all struggled with the bat, while Dunedin ran out as the only winner.
