Ricky Romero pitches Saturday but Jeremy Jeffress pitched Friday and he pitched two good innings. Aaron Sanchez started that game and he wasn't perfect but he did have seven strikeouts. Daniel Norris started for Lansing and while he lost he kept the ball down, only one ball was hit in the air against him. Both Dunedin and Lansing lost. New Hampshire won behind good pitching from Marcus Walden and another home run from Ryan Schimpf. Buffalo won again with home runs from Luis Jimenez, Moises Sierra and Eugenio Velez and of course three hits by Jim Negrych.

Buffalo splits a doubleheader, New Hampshire and Dunedin fall, and Lansing pulls one out. Your Toronto Blue Jays’ affiliates were 2-3 on the night. Roberto Osuna was the lone star of the night, striking out eight over five innings of one-hit, one-run baseball. Anthony Gose had a decent day—he walked more than he struck out and also stole a base, which has been an odd rarity so far. Yes, Ramon Ortiz pitched shutout baseball over five innings in Buffalo, but Ramon was a prospect 20 years ago.

In the doubleheader New Hampshire had only three hits in game one while New Britain had only two hits in game two. Ryan Tepera was outstanding, he gave up one hit in six innings and his sinker was really working. Tatlor Cole and the bullpen pitched well for Lansing and the offense came through for the win.

A trio of pitching prospects took the hill today.  Aaron Sanchez was excellent, Daniel Norris was OK while Deck McGuire was disappointing.  Miguel Batista, definitely not a prospect, pitched very well for Buffalo.  Buffalo kept on winning, Dunedin won too, but New Hampshire and Lansing lost.

While one affiliate sang Rain, Rain, Go Away for umpteenth time today, another affiliate blasted its way into the record books. The Buffalo Bisons today recorded 27 runs on 29 hits, both records for the International League. Second basemen Jim Negrych’s cycle was one of many noteworthy performances for Buffalo on the day. Casey Lawrence also had a day to remember, pitching nine and two-thirds of shutout, four-hit ball down in Dunedin. Two of three affiliates went home happy tonight.

The rain held off and there were six games played.  The affiliates had only one win and, to add insult to injury, the Lugnuts were no-hit. Buffalo had the only win thanks to Dave Bush, Anthony Gose and Andy LaRoche.  In the nightcap Miguel Batista couldn't get out of the first inning and a parade of relievers were no better.  New Hampshire were also down early while Dunedin lost a close one.  Brett Lawrie outhit the other eight hitters 2-1.

Lansing had Roberto Osuna and Daniel Norris starting today.  Osuna pitched well but had one bad inning and when your hitters are no hit that's all that matters.  Norris too was good, and much better, for three innings but he lost it in the fourth.  But I am sure he will be happy that he showed improvement today.
