Welcome to the Batters Box top 30 Blue Jay prospects for 2012. Six of your trusted minor league correspondents pooled their votes to come up with the list. The same trusty six shared the task of writing the prospect descriptions you see below.
The system has seen a lot of movement since 2011. Anthony Gose, Drew Hutchison, David Cooper, Luis Perez and Moises Sierra are no longer rookies. Nestor Molina, Carlos Perez, Asher Wojciechowski, Kevin Comer and Joe Musgrove were traded. That is ten prospects who are off the list before players who dropped because of poor performance.
In total, forty-five prospects received at least one vote. Nineteen of the top thirty were named on all six ballots. There can be plenty of debate as to who should have made it, particularly here, in the bottom 10. We hope the wisdom of our crowd has delivered a great top thirty.
As usual we have split the top 30 into three installments, running Monday through Wednesday. On Thursday we will look at some prospects that did not make the list but are favourites of one of our writers.
We hope you enjoy the list and the discussion.
Baseball America has begun listing the top 20 prospects from each minor league. The Arizona Rookie League was yesterday and today we see two Blue Jays in the GCL top 20. BA will also have a chat following each list. This thread will list all the Blue Jays making the lists over the next couple of weeks.

Buster T. Bison and his ball club welcome Toronto with open arms, marking the return of the Blue Jays Triple-A affiliate to the International League after a four-year absence.

The Blue Jays could have its Triple-A prospects playing at Coca-Cola Field in Buffalo for at least the next two seasons if they reach an affiliation agreement with the Bisons this week.
The Vancouver Canadians have made it to the final of the Northwest League playoffs thanks to an all hands win over Everett. Meanwhile the Blue Jays offense is so bad that even JP Arencibia and David Cooper couldn't prevent the Dunedin Jays from being shut out. Marcus Walden made one mistake and that was enough to take the loss. The D-Jays had several chances but couldn't deliver a key hit.
The Vancouver Canadians celebrate their playoff opening victory against Everett at Nat Bailey Stadium Monday afternoon.
The Vancouver Canadians will get a chance to defend its Northwest League championship as they host Everett in Game 1 of the NWL West Division playoffs Monday afternoon at Nat Bailey Stadium.
Vancouver took a beating while Eugene won, putting the Canadians a half game behind in their playoff race. Las Vegas stayed mathematically alive thanks to Anthony Gose and Yan Gomes. Their elimination number is one. Bluefield lost their final game of the season. New Hampshire lost in extra innings, Lansing also lost while Dunedin swept both ends of a doubleheader from the Yankees Tampa team. Casey Lawrence pitched a complete game to win game one. In game two Dunedin won 1-0 with new Jay Amadeo Zuzueta driving in the only run.
