Buffalo were one hit and shut out. New Hampshire had two hits through six innings before getting a grand slam in the seventh. They still lost. Dunedin had no hits through five innings but came back to win with a walk off ninth. Vancouver had just four hits but won behind a good start from Adam Kloffenstein.

Buffalo received excellent pitching and won. Chavez Young drove in three runs for New Hampshire but the bullpen blew up late. Vancouver won behind CJ Van Eyk. Dunedin scored a run in the ninth to tie the game and a run in the tenth to win. The FCL Jays won with Dahian Santos pitching well.

You're probably thinking - that sneaky old Magpie. Gives us thousands of words yesterday on the Tigers of the past because he's got nothing to say about the Tigers of today.
Trent Palmer threw a seven inning no hitter for Dunedin. He had ten strikeouts for a top level performance. Palmer's no hitter came in game two of a doubleheader and helped Dunedin split the twin bill. Buffalo, on the other hand, lost both ends of their doubleheader. With Smith and Lopez getting promoted this week, the offense struggled in the two games. New Hampshire won with Samad Taylor homering and Maximo Castillo pitching seven innings. Vancouver hit back to back to back jacks in their first inning and cruised to a win.

When I was a little wee nipper, about eleven years old, I went exploring in an old trunk I found in the garage. And I found three battered old books. I rescued them, and read them, over and over.

The Blue Jays affiliates posted a 2-3 record on Wednesday. Buffalo's doubleheader in Syracuse was rained out and Dunedin's game against Fort Myers was suspended due to wet grounds.
New Hampshire had the only win Tuesday night. Buffalo's game in Syracuse was rained out.

The end of the 2021 season's last long road trip comes into view. Yes, after spending most of the last two years on The Longest Road trip in
history, the Jays will spend most of the final six weeks at home. They
have a three game trip to Detroit next week. They hit the road twice in
September: once to visit New York and Baltimore, and once to visit Tampa
Bay and Minnesota. They play 25 of the final 43 games in the Dome of
Home.

There are thirty major league pitching coaches. Were any of these guys even half-decent pitchers?
Sebastian Espino hit three home runs for Vancouver as they romped to a win. They hit six home runs. One of them was by Orelvis Martinez who had seen his average dip below .200. Another player who had some recent struggles was Kevin Smith who came back after a day off with four hits on Sunday. With Casey Lawrence throwing blanks it was an easy win for the Bisons. New Hampshire were down early and lost. Dunedin had the day off.

Chavez Young gunned down three runners for New Hampshire. The Fisher Cats took a 6-3 lead to the bottom of the ninth but lost in a walk-off. Buffalo's winning streak came to an end. Vancouver exploded for 16 hits en route to a nice win. Dunedin won both ends of a doubleheader.
There is an old saying in baseball that hitters are going to hit. It basically means that some hitters just know how to hit and can do so in any situation. Otto Lopez is going to hit. After hitting well everywhere before this season, he hit .330 in New Hampshire and now he is hitting .333 in Buffalo. It seems safe to assume that Lopez will hit in the major leagues. It might be good for the Jays to pick a position and let Lopez become proficient in it.
Lopez helped Buffalo to yet another win. Zach Logue pitched well. Maximo Castillo pitched just as well for New Hampshire as Tanner Kirwer and Vinny Capra went deep. Vancouver lost a back and forth game. Dunedin had just one hit through seven innings but pulled out a 2-0 win.

The Western swing continues.
The Bisons continued their winning ways thanks in part to a Kevin Smith home run. They are 3-0 at home in Buffalo and against the Red Wings in this series. New Hampshire eked out a close win. Vancouver came back from a 9-4 deficit to win. Dunedin lost both ends of a doubleheader and the FCL Jays also lost.
The Bisons winning streak has moved them into first place in their division and they are the Jays only hope for the playoffs. New Hampshire, Vancouver and Dunedin all have losing records and the playoffs are almost impossible.
Buffalo and Vancouver were your Wednesday winners on a 2-4 night on the farm.
