It was a mixed bag on the farm on Thursday. Kevin Smith had a big night. Cullen Large moved his average over .300 so the write-up asks, who is the better prospect?

There are around twelve games left in the season. Dunedin are in the playoffs. Buffalo and Lansing are both in with a chance but they both had bad games on Thursday where they were behind by a lot early in the game. The other five teams vary from little to no hope.

Demi Orimoloye hit two home runs. Justin Ammons had four hits with three doubles. Anthony Kay became the third Bisons pitcher in a row to pitch shutout baseball. TJ Zeuch, Nate Pearson and Kay are each staking a claim on a promotion. Adam Kloffenstein pitched well. It has been a good week for Blue Jay pitching prospects.

It was a good night for the affiliates with six wins and two losses. Vancouver had the most exciting win, getting a run in the tenth to win 1-0. The GCL Jays took an 8-1 lead to the bottom of the ninth and had to hang on to win 8-7.

The Jays make a rare visit to Hollywood and hope to steal a win against the rampaging Dodgers. Tinseltown's finest are 82-44 and are on pace for a 105 win season. They lead the division by 18 games. It's a tough assignment for the baby faced Jays but they haven't been intimidated much recently. Much will depend on Vladdy's availability and now would be a good time for all the pretenders, like Teoscar, Fisher, Drury and McKinney to go an a long tear to end the season on a high note.

Nate Pearson pitched 5.2 shutout innings with six strikeouts. Adam Kloffenstein pitched five shutout innings with eight K's. They helped New Hampshire and Vancouver to a pair of 1-0 wins. The other teams lost. Buffalo lost by seven runs, Dunedin by 6, Lansing by 8, Bluefield by 7. After Wednesday had some good pitching performances, Thursday saw some poor pitching, with Pearson and Kloffenstein the obvious exceptions.

Santiago Espinal singled in the winning run for Buffalo in the eleventh inning. New Hampshire scored just one run but that was good enough for the win. Dunedin also had a shutout win. Lansing had a more normal win. Vancouver lost in extras. Bluefield and the GCL Jays did not play. Some of the pitchers listed in the waves of those coming to deliver the Jays to the playoffs pitched well on Wednesday. TJ Zeuch, Yennsy Diaz, Maximo Castillo all pitched shutouts while they were on the mound.

Alek Manoah, Thomas Hatch, Kyle Johnston, Juan De Paula, Sem Robberse and Yaifer Perdomo, all in their first years with the Jays, started for their respective teams. One exception was TJ Zeuch who pitched very well for seven innings on Thursday. His eighth was less fun.
