It came to me in a dream...

It was a light night on the farm. The AAA and AA teams were off for their all-star breaks and Lansing were rained out. Chris Colabello could not help Dunedin win. Vancouver got five runs in the first inning and had an easy win. Bluefield lost while the GCL Jays had a walk off win thanks to two out RBI hits in the ninth and tenth innings.

The only teams in action Tuesday were the Gulf Coast and Dominican teams and they continued their winning seasons by improving to 10 and seven games above .500 respectively.

The Vancouver Canadians had a chance to take over first place in the North Division but Tri-City had other ideas Monday night.

Yup, I've dusted off the Big Honking Database and propose once more to look at One-Run Games in general and the hometown heroes in particular.

The C's pulled into a three-way tie for first place in the Northwest League North Division after winning the second of a three-game series against Tri-City Sunday afternoon.


Dalton Rodriguez hung around for five innings to get the victory.

The affiliates won a pair of early games to boost their record to 4-2 on Monday. Buffalo and New Hampshire did not have to play ball and therefore they did not.

The Vancouver Canadians opened up a crucial series against Tri-City Saturday and delivered the first punch against the Padres affiliate.

Five win in six games, only Bluefield fell short. Jesus Montero hit two big home run but it was Domonic Brown who was key to the win. Rowdy Tellez and Dwight Smith had big home runs. Richard Urena had an eight hit weekend, helping Dunedin to win. Cavan Biggio had a big game for the Canadians.

Some high scoring affairs on the farm. Lansing and Dunedin were in the double digits for runs, while New Hampshire and the GCL squad were shut out. Overall, the farm was 5-2.

The Blue Jays finish off their first half of the season with a four-game series against Detroit.

Three of the hottest teams in the system stayed hot. Dunedin won again with good all round performances including Richard Urena and Jonathan Davis. The GCL Jays took flight in the ninth inning starting with a big triple by Bo Bichette. Wilfri Aleton pitched well again. Bluefield won to take first place in their division. Vlad Jr had a couple more hits. New Hampshire also won with Taylor Cole leading the way. Lansing lost in the ninth inning while Buffalo and Vancouver were hammered.

The C's looked to clinch a series win over Spokane after a convincing Canada Day victory.

The affiliates won seven of eight games Tuesday night. If not for some baserunning buffoonery, it could have been a perfect night.

The C's were hoping to sweep away Spokane but those hopes were dealt an early blow.


Griffin Glaude was pressed into duty in the first inning after Justin Maese left with a forearm injury. He allowed an inherited runner to score in the first and gave up two more in the next two innings, including this Darius Day home run.
