Hits were in short supply on Sunday. In five games the Jays affiliates had 2, 3, 4, 5 and 10 hits. The only game they won was the game with four hits. Will Robertson provided the big hit to get the win for Buffalo.
Khal Stephen dominated Daytona and Dunedin scored 14 for a win. It is a race between him and Yesavage to see who gets to Vancouver first. The FCL Jays started their season with a win for a Florida double. Vancouver also had a big win. New Hampshire won a 1-0 game. Buffalo were the only losers.
Two wins for the affiliates. Ryan Watson spun a gem while Schreck woke up from his slumber. Yhoangel Aponte also had a big game as did Orelvis Martinez.

Hey, I had to use that headline at least once. Yesavage had eight K's in six shutout innings in his highly touted matchup against Phillies prospect Andrew Painter. Arjun Nimmala homered again in Vancouver's loss. Buffalo had a nice win while New Hampshire lost in extra innings.
Clearwater 4 Dunedin 0
New Hampshire 3 Portland 2
Portland 3 New Hampshire 2
Vancouver 9 Hillsboro 6
Buffalo 10 Iowa 8
The Bisons are winning, Dunedin is shut out, Double dipping in New Hampshire, and Vancouver is hosting the Hops.
Buffalo and New Hampshire gave up nine runs and lost, Vancouver also allowed nine runs but won and there were nine runs scored in Dunedin but the D-Jays only had four of them on Wednesday, April 29.

Vancouver Canadians
Victor Arias.
Arjun Nimmala homered for the third game in a row on another good night for the affiliates. Three wins and a one run loss. The big story was Vancouver scoring four runs in the top of the ninth to erase a two run deficit. The game went to extra innings where Eddie Micheletti Jr doubled in the winning run. Vancouver and Dunedin won on nights when Grant Rogers and Khal Stephen were not at their best. Jake Bloss was pretty good though.
All four affiliates won, an unusual occurrence this season.

ON a night when Trey Yesavage and Gage Stanifer pitched it was Rafael Sanchez who stole the show. Sanchez threw a six inning complete game shutout to get the win for New Hampshire. Yesavage and Stanifer were good too. Also Arjun Nimmala hit his third home run of the season.

The affiliates played five games on Thursday, New Hampshire played two, and Buffalo were the only winners. In the four losing games the Jays teams had 14 hits combined for an average of 3.5 hits per game. That's not a recipe for success.

Dunedin 6 Tampa 5
Binghamton 3 New Hampshire 0
Vancouver 4 Everett 2
Buffalo 6 Rochester 3
Buffalo 3 Rochester 2
Make up games in Buffalo, Dunedin win a close one, New Hampshire gets shut out, Vancouver heads down the I5.
Dunedin prevented a total disaster on an otherwise disappointing Tuesday. At least the Leafs won.
None of the affiliates were able to rise from the dead on Sunday. None of them had a lead in their games and they combined for 20 hits over four games. There was little to get excited about.
Three wins on Saturday with lots of excellent performances. Yohendrick Pinango led the way with four hits. Bryce Arnold and Ali Sanchez homered twice.

Eight home runs in the minor league today. Jace Bohrofen hit two, Yeuni Munoz hit one for his third day in a row. Several players got their first home run of the season. All those home runs just earned two wins for the affiliates.
