This 10 game stretch against AL Central opposition concludes with three in the Windy City, beginning with the Memorial Day game this afternoon.
It was a down day for the major league team but it was good news all around on the farm. Four games, four wins, lots of runs, good pitching. Buffalo and New Hampshire had double digits in hits. Vancouver and Dunedin had fewer hits but excellent starting pitching. The affiliates four starting pitchers allowed three runs combined!
Alexis Hernandez is having a good weekend. He homered on Friday and again on Saturday, one of his four hits. Dunedin won as did Vancouver in ten innings. Things were not so good for the other affiliates.
Vancouver were the only winners on Friday, New Hampshire and Dunedin had leads late into their games but lost, as did Buffalo. Ryan McCarty hit a first innings two run home run to get Vancouver on the way to their win.
There were seven games on Thursday. New Hampshire played two and won both. Buffalo split their doubleheader as Orelvis Martinez had a mixed day. He struck out four times in one game and had a couple of extra base hits in the other. The FCL Jays won while Vancouver and Dunedin lost.
On the road again, with a seven game trip to a couple of Original Six cities. (not that there ever was an Original Six anywhere, one of those myths that has always irritated the hell out of me.)
Buffalo gets rained out, Dunedin and New Hampshire get blasted, and Vancouver loses in Hillsboro.
Buffalo St. Paul Suspended
Somerset 11 New Hampshire 2
Hillsboro 5 Vancouver 3
Bradenton 7 Dunedin 1
Dunedin and New Hampshire were the winners on Tuesday. Buffalo, Vancouver and the FCL Blue Jays went a combined 0-4.
The homestand continues this afternoon as the not-so-mighty Chicago White Sox providing the opposition.
Buffalo and New Hampshire both lost to walk-offs in the eleventh inning. Vancouver just needed nine innings to be walked off. Dunedin won to save the day.
There were seven games on Saturday with three affiliate wins. Buffalo split a doubleheader, New Hampshire and Dunedin won. Vancouver lost a doubleheader and the FCL Jays also lost. In most games there were not a lot of hits for the Jays batters.

It had been a quiet start to the season for Jace Bohrofen. He hit his first home run of the season on Wednesday and added his second on Friday, part of a four RBI game. Vancouver won that game. Dunedin rallied to win while New Hampshire were shutout. The FCL Jays lost and Buffalo were rained out.
A six game homestand commences with a visit from the Tampa Bay Rays.
Dunedin had a tenth inning walk off win. New Hampshire also won but the other three affiliates lost.
